The one and only Tommie Sunshine and rising artist Breikthru have teamed up to re-arrange an original formed by dEVOLVE and vocalist Saint Wade. “Golden (Tommie Sunshine & Breikthru Remix)”, boasts a plethora of names on one track, the blend of positives all on one work in unison near-guarantees success of the path of this one.
While the original certainly stands on it’s own and has plenty of strongpoints embedded, the flip Tommie Sunshine and Breikthru showcase here puts a fun bump and and empowering twist on the vibe. The lyrics alone share a somber, emotional story and an upper-class club-friendly melody on the topline. The piano-house essence and deep house layer adds to the winning aspects the remix has.
“Golden (Tommie Sunshine & Breikthru Remix)” builds on the momentum of the original, which climbed to 5K Shazams and heavy terrestrial radio-play nationwide as well Sirius XM programming. 2014 is starting to shape up into something great for Live City. They have already unleashed a boatload of free remixes, in addition to some tunes on Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn Fire Records & The Disco Fries Liftoff Recordings. The duo continue to write more and more music and it is starting to pay off with approving looks from big labels coming. They tide us over with this remake of an absolute jam, September’s “Cry For You” giving it the upbeat melodic energy that is fit for present day, while still paying proper homage to its brilliance.

Live City have been on tear lately and it culimates in the release of “Slingshot” via Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn Fire Recordings. Their relationship with Tommie goes well beyond a few signed records, they have done a ton of tracks together and Tommie has been a sensei to them. This acid influenced fireball has been supported by some bug names like Marcus Schossow, Sander van Doorn and Benny Benassi all supporting in person. Grab this tune and head out to see them at Slake on the 18th if you are in NYC.

Live City & the edm Jesus, Tommie Sunshine, collabed last year alone 5 times, so it is fitting that they would get right to it in 2014 with another remix effort. They unleash a fireball of a remix, with an acid-tinged, electro drop, over a punchy, rolling bass line. These three have been coming together on some big tunes, and this remix is no different. Savvy vet and outspoken defender of the younger generation of dance music fans, Tommie Sunshine teamed up with fellow New Yorkers Disco Fries and Chicago vocalist Kid Sister on the funky house track “Cool Without You” on Australian Records. The remix package was recently released and of those on there the Audien’s remix stands out with its ability to take advantage of the vocals and add exquisite piano in the build, quick grungy electro stabs and deft key play — all while still keeping the funky feel of the original. Audien has been on a tear lately and with his rate of quality tracks showing no signs of slowing, he is sure to have a great 2013.
