Progressive House | Tom Swoon feat. Miss Palmer – Who We Are

Posted by on November 13, 2012

Following his outstanding remix of “Hello Chicago“, the man who you got to know as Pixel Cheese, currently known as Tom Swoon, has released his single “Who We Are” on Ultra Records. Miss Palmer who got her fame for her work on “No Beef”, provides vocals that match the euphoric synths provided by the Polish up and comer. Tom Swoon may have gotten his start remaking and mashing tracks, but his latest works show that he has not skipped a beat making the transition to the harder work of creating originals and remixes.

Dubstep, Progressive House | Topher Jones & Amada – Hello Chicago (Remixes)

Posted by on November 10, 2012

Topher Jones’ ode to his hometown Chicago got the remixes the track was begging for to give it the lift it needed. We start the package with a rather surprising remix from Ashley Wallbridge. He is known for his more traditional trance tracks as a member of Garuda Records, but on this remix he takes a more progressive approach with a big room build and a growling electro drop. The Tom Swoon goes for broke with as big a drop as you can get with driving synth chords and a smooth build, emphasizing Amada’s vocals. Those Usual Suspects remix utilizes chopped synth stabs and a chugging bass line to give some variation to the melody. Fellow Chicago producer, Stratus adds some fast paced, crunchy dubstep to the track, taking a totally different path taen the rest of the remixes.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Lift Off #003

Posted by on August 17, 2012

It has been a little while since the last Lift Off, but me and w8 are back with a vengeance this week with a post jam packed with great tracks from some of the most underrated producers out there and some incredible free tracks that labels should be salivating to get their hands on.

Marco V has released his latest track “10PM”, which by the sound of it, would be good at 10pm or at 3am with its big room build and the club oriented breakdown.

Beatport: Marco V – 10PM

Ken Loi delivers on this remix taking the original that was a little bland and adding a grinding electro bit to the drop with an moving piano motif in the build.

Tom Swoon is back with the preview to his remix of Linkin Park – Burn It Down, which you can get right now if you pre-order “Living Things Remixed”. It provides a progressive, melodic side to this dark track that works very well.

This next track is very interesting as it was first previewed I believe intentionally by management as an Avicii fake (pr releases brag about the clicks on the video of the fake), however there is no denying how good this song is.

Beatport: Mr. Black & Blue – Get It On

Synchronice give this great Subfocus track a makeover, keeping the melodic piano build with vocals and turning the break into some heavy electro house bringing the energy up to a whole new level. One of those tracks you will regret not getting.

Progressive House | Ellie Goulding – Hanging On (Tom Swoon Remix)

Posted by on August 2, 2012

Tom Swoon, formerly known as Pixel Cheese, has provided his talents to remix this beautiful Ellie Goulding track. He lends his progressive flavor to the track with a well layered, uplifting melody to accompany Ellie Goulding’s angelic vocals and a tasteful, crafty dubstep interlude to carry us to an even bigger second drop. This remix takes a different approach than the Moiez remix, going for more of an upbeat, big room festival vibe. This is a fantastic track that is available for free, so there is no excuse for you not to grab it immediately.
