Electro, Progressive House | Clean Bandit – Rather Be (Elephante Remix)
Posted by Mel on June 10, 2014
Much like how a certain chainsmoking duo stole all of our hearts last year, Elephante appears to be on the same track and ready to do the same. The high quality of each release combined with his unique sound is a recipe for success. His latest remix keeps up with his hybrid progressive house fused with electro style and, like always, it’s awesome.

Dubstep | Noosa – Clocktower (PatrickReza Remix)
Posted by BP on May 29, 2014

I’m one day late on this one (apologies) but it’s so lovely that it deserves a post. PatrickReza is always on point, and this remix of “Clocktower” by Noosa doesn’t fall short. I was just complaining about the lack of dubstep lately and then PatrickReza surfaced with this excellent remix. The beautiful vocals dance over low bass growls throughout this melodic dubstep masterpiece. The drops are unique because they jump around quite a bit, keeping it interesting while still maintaining that classic PatrickReza style. Lucky for us, it’s out for free download!

Deep House | Karin Park – Shine (L’amore Summer Remode)

On a special day in early July of last year, I felt like going swimming. I also felt like making my mouth taste terrible however, so I decided to go swimming in the Pacific Ocean. I am unsure if it was the large quantity of seawater that orally penetrated me (I’m not a girl btw), or that margarita I had not long afterwards, but somehow I got sick. I had a light cough and so there was just no way I was capable of making a post. A few weeks passed and on August 1st of last year, I returned from my multi-week hiatus with a post of Jeter’s remix of Coldplay’s “Clocks”. A remix for “Clocks”, or really any Coldplay song is a rare thing but Jeter delivered a great progressive house remix of Coldplay. Something done only by literally a lot of people.
After some time, George Greenwood also started producing under the name L’amore. He switched from his uptempo progressive house style to a calmer, deep house and house style. He has a few releases on his Soundcloud and they’re all good, but when he uploaded a minute long preview of his remix for the vocalist on Axwell’s latest track, Karin Park, I immediately messaged him asking when he would release it. He expedited the release and now his remode of Karin Park’s “Shine” is available for all. L’amore’s abilities as a producer are superb, with his exceptionally high production quality being especially impressive. He has a knowledge of music that many of his peers cannot match. If you enjoy the song below, check out his Soundcloud because you’ll probably enjoy his others.

House, Progressive House | Eric Prydz – Pjanoo (Laurent Iacomucci Bootleg)
Posted by Mel on May 5, 2014
Take a good look at the young man in the image above because not only does he clearly have top-tier pectoral muscles (thank God for tight v-necks am I right ladies?), but he is also helping to revive the groove filled style of progressive house that was so popular prior to the genre becoming mainstream and switching to the euphoria driven sound. Laurent lacomucci is a 20 year old from the tiny country of Luxembourg and has broken away from his string of originals to put his own spin on the Eric Prydz classic, “Pjanoo”. The signature piano melody as well as the background arp remain but they have been reworked to fit into a groove heavy context. Everybody thought that Ja Rule and Ashanti were perfect together when they did that song back in 2002 but times changed and groove in house music took a back seat to Ashanti and uplifting chords so it’s nice to see young producers reverting back to that classic style.

Progressive House | Lush & Simon – Banshee
Posted by Middy on May 4, 2014
Though Simon from Lush & Simon left the duo, the hot in demand duo live in on with a new member with Lush as the veteran and grounding member. To celebrate the fact they have a tune coming soon on Protocol Recordings, they are giving out a brand new freebee “Banshee”. The tune starts with a more minimal clubby feel and then elevates into the powerful melodic type of style that we have come to expect from Lush & Simon. Also included is their vocal mix of “City Of Lights”, featuring Swedish group XOV that was released on Monday.
Progressive House | Marcus Santoro & Jason Forté – Torque
Posted by Mel on April 10, 2014
Marcus Santoro has shown that he can do both uplifting progressive house, as most recently demonstrated in his collaborative remix of “Young Hearts”, as well as the more groove filled, harder style. He has gone with the latter style in his latest single which was done together with fellow Australian Jason Forté. The song starts with a light melody before changing over in the build for a gritty drop. It’s out now on the recently formed Australian label Basik.

Trap | $aturn – Cross Roads ft. Skrux
Posted by BP on February 21, 2014

The combination of $aturn and Skrux caught my attention immediately, and I knew this would be a good track. $aturn has been putting out a good bunch of “lovetrap” style songs recently, and getting Skrux involved could only make them better. In this track called “Cross Roads ft. Skrux” each drop is different and exciting. While remaining melodic, this original trap song takes many twists and turns. Personally, my favorite drop is around 2:30. Scoop this one up for free on Facebook!
