Sikduo, a production team consisting of New York City legends DJ Riz and Chris Moody, are on the rise. Just yesterday, they released a new single entitled “Bring That Beat Back” that premiered on Sirius XM BPM. ”Bring That Beat Back” driving electro track with heavy snares layered on top of a tuff groove. They stick to there hip hop flavor by adding samples of the powerful voice of Chuck D. The breakdown is collected of catchy chords along with big builds. Download the track for free below, they’re taking over the blogosphere.

Damn man, the producer from the 201 Jersey area currently signed to Irv Gotti’s ATM label Mr Myles William, sent over  his latest release “Im Dat Nigga” with the most talked about rapper at the moment Troy Ave featuring Young Lito. The record is off Troy’s album “New York City,” and this is what the NYC hip hop scene’s been missing: raw lyrics, hard beats, and boasting. There’s no wonder this album’s been making its round on the blogosphere, and I’m proud to know the homie Myles is behind this production, along with the legendary Reefa and Stats. This is a must listen and must download!

Hip-Hop, Rap | A$AP Rocky – Angels

Posted by on October 31, 2013

This record “Angels” by A$AP Rocky is dope as hell. The visuals were co-directed by the rapper himself and Luke Monaghan in the streets of New York City. In the video, Rocky and his crew are out terrorizing the streets on BMX bikes, smoking weed, and wearing the Jason mask. In his rap, A$AP spits “I brought the garden back, I brought Harlem back,” those are two big statements, but I’m liking this MC’s progression in the hip hop game since he first came on the scene. This is a must listen!

Pop, RnB | Chaka Khan ft Lecrae – It’s Not Over

Chaka Khan

This might be a first for Fresh New Tracks, but I’m a fan of this record, and felt the need to share. Chaka Khan is a legend, and this track is just too dope. If only Kanye used another sample of hers on Yeezus, like he did with “Through the Wire,” maybe it would have sold more copies, and gone more mainstream, but not my problem at the moment… Chaka Khan still has it and I’m loving it! LeCrae is the man as well, he hops on this track with that TI swag, that Drake flow, and keeps it all positive. So if you’re feeling down, and you want some uplifting music, this track is a Must Listen!

And on another note, New York City’s own DJ Prime sent over this remix the other day for his latest single “So Fly” featuring Oh Snap!! , and it’s been creeping up on me. Suraci turned this radio pop banger into a sexy club track for the Summer. I strongly suggest you check this track out. Nothing but a good time!

Events, Review | Julian Jordan Makes his New York Headline Debut at Santos Party House 6/22/12 (Review)

Posted by on July 2, 2013

Julian Jordan Arms UpIt had been a long couple days. Two days before I had attended the Zedd show on Pier 84 and its ensuing festivities, my 22nd birthday was that Friday (it all goes downhill from there kids) and Julian Jordan made his New York City debut that Saturday night at Santos Party House. Going in, I had no expectations from him, since he is only 18 years old, and has only been thrust into the dance music spotlight recently because of a select few productions and a strong marketing team.

Upon arriving at the club at around 1am, I was met with a nearly half-full house and filling up, and the opener still holding down on decks. Julian Jordan was surveying the scene from an elevated platform to the left with a rider largely untouched. The openers played some second tier hits until around 1:15, when Julian Jordan came down and took over the decks during “Follow You”.

British producer Eden Anderson, aka Special Features, coming off of his remix of Walden’s “Intropial“, makes his triumphant return to Big Beat Records with his new single “Illusions“. A name who has cemented himself as must watch up and comer, makes his single debut on New York City based, Big Beat Records, which is having a great year of its own with releases like “Together We Are” and the Kill Paris remix of Rudimental‘s “Feel The Love“. “Illusions” provdes much of the same melodic tendencies we have seen in the past with Special Features, using fast paced key work, playful arps and cheery melodies to create yet another outstanding production. On the horizon, Special Features has a remix coming for Ellie Goulding, which knowing her vocal prowess and his production style, it should mesh very well.
