Mashups | FNT WELCOMES THE WHITE PANDA

Posted by on August 3, 2010

Say hello to our most recently affiliated artist,The White Panda. Based out of Chicago and Los Angeles, this duo has been killing it over the last year with mashups that mesh so well together, you would have thought God himself mixed them. The last two mixtapes they’ve dropped, “Versus” and “Rematch” have been nothing short of perfect. The best part about The White Panda is almost every track you’ve ever thought should be mashed up, they’ve done, and they’ve done it well. Check them out on the affiliated artist page here

Uncategorized | Drake Meet J Tarin – Westwood Drake Freestyle Remix

Posted by on June 18, 2010

We posted Drake’s freestyle with Tim Westwood about a week ago and despite the fact it wasn’t off the dome, his lyrics still left us impressed as always…Well, 21 year-old producer named J Tarin got a hold of the a capella freestyle and created a beat to go with it. Although the endings a little weak, it’s pretty well done as he even made the moments of silence when Drake forgot his lines mesh well. Make sure you give it a listen.

Uncategorized | TECHNO HEAT!

Two words: Cable Guy, ahh the nostalgic power that music possesses. Even a glorified techno remix reminds me of the scene I repeatedly watched as a 10 year old (posted above) where Jim Carrey lays down an unmistakeable rendition of Jefferson Airplanes hit “Somebody To Love”.

One of the first techno-ish tracks to pique my interest and provoke the horrible musical obsession I cope with now was “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit”. Therefore most remixes, bootlegs, blends, etc. leave something to be desired. However, after putting a personal spin on this one, it’s unique enough to keep my ears tame for a minute. If you vibed to the original version cop this, otherwise you should probably skip it.

Are three must downloads really necessary? Absolutely. Obviously every track I touch (BIGLIFE EDIT) is a must download so that’s why this post has more MD’s than usual. Im not afraid to admit I love the up-beat classic electro sound of Eiffel 65. I remember roller blading around rinks to this in CA (step up from cotillion since it was sort of socially acceptable and you could ask girls to take romantic slow skates around the rink… any takers out there on this?) so I happen to love any worthy edit to this song.

What do you get when you take 1 part electro pop synth (La Roux) and 1 part dancehall soca (Major Lazer)? A completely singular sound… I’m shocked that two unlike vibes can mesh together so flawlessly. The Bulletproof remix can’t be passed up.
