Progressive House | Pharrell Williams – Happy (Sevag Area-201 Remix)

Posted by on April 23, 2014

Pharrell Williams - Happy (Sevag Area-201 Remix)The “Happy” remixes are coming and they are coming quickly, but thankfully Sevag lent his talents to the tune. The original is catchy and happy enough to make a man cry, but Sevag gives you a change of pace from what you have been hearing constantly on the radio, TV and elsewhere. He adds some tasteful, bouncy big room with booming synths and well crafted builds. It has already been supported by Nicky Romero, Promise Land and Matisse & Sadko, so you know something is there. Upcoming, Sevag has a tune with Henrix “Latina” that was premiered by Dannic on his radio show that you will want to stay tuned for.

Electro-House | Mikael Weermets – Panorama

Posted by on June 1, 2013

Mikael Weermets - PanoramaBoom, another free download from me, how rare. Don’t worry I will be back to my Beatport posting ways soon enough, but for now enjoy this free download, because Mikael Weermets brings some heat. As a thank you to the fans for supporting him for the past 10 years, Swedish Dj / producer, Mikael Weermet has released “Panorama” for free. The track combines chunky electro elements with a big room melodic interlude, making this an ideal addition to his recent heavyset discography.

Inspired by a festival last summer, this track as he said “wrote itself” from the energy of the day before and soon turned into one of his most requested tracks to date. It has already been supported by the likes of Tiesto, Deniz Koyu, Matisse & Sadko, Michael Calfan & Tristan Garner, so take that as an indication that it is a worthwhile addition to your library as well.

With already 3 huge releases under its belt this year, Size Records brings out its next weapon from German producer, Moguai, who is coming quick out of the gate this year with his chart topping release “Mammoth” and now this recently previewed release on Size. “Champs” provides a subtle toughness, much like that seen in “Mammoth”, while still remaining true to many of the melodic hallmarks we saw on his 2012 artist album “Mpire”. As the 99th release on Size Records, we have to hope that the 100th release during this 100 to 100 campaign will be something from Steve, possibly his collab with Matisse & Sadko.

DJ-Set, House | Weekend Mixes 11/29/12

Posted by on November 29, 2012

Sorry about missing last week, traveling for Thanksgiving got in the way of getting this up. To make up for it, we have even more mixes for you to get down to this weekend. Things inevitably always get weird on weekends so we start things off with Pierce Fulton and his eccectic “Get Weird” radio show. We continue on with the first ever episode from Dillon Francis and his new weekly “My F*cking Awesome Radio Show” that gives us a lot of moombahton and generally f*cking awesome music. We forge on with this week’s episode of The Drop that features a guest mix from the Starkillers. Also included after the jum is their Mixify mix that includes 37 tracks straight in an hour. Next up we have a mix from Dzeko & Torres that includes their latest single “Yeah” as well a unique selection of different progressive, house and electro tracks. After the jump we have more mixes from Dirty South, the Mixify mix from The Drop, Matisse & Sadko, Walden’s guest mix on Together We Are, Gigamesh and Hard Rock Sofa.

DJ-Set | Weekend Mixes 11/8/12

Posted by on November 8, 2012

This week we have an outrageous amount of mixes. There is music for days. Not really, more for hours, but you get the point. We start things off with Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman’s weekly radio show and their upbeat selection and melodic mixing, which is an element that is missing from many podcasts. Next up our friends over at The Drop had Tritonal on for an interview and for guest mix duties in a trance heavy episode. Avicii just released the 8th episode of his Levels podcast, which featured the vocal version of “Nicktim”, which to be pretty honest is pretty awful and gave the radio premier of Henrik B’s upcoming track “Voices”, which in contrast is outstanding. Much like the label itself, Fool’s Gold Radio brings you an incredibly eclectic tracklist and with A-trak on the decks, the mixing is through the roof. The rest of the mixes come from Walden, Laidback Luke, and another from The Drop. Tracklist as always are after the jump.

Electro-House | Hard Rock Sofa, Matisse & Sadko, Swanky Tunes – Chemistry (Turn The Flame Higher)

Posted by on November 5, 2012

Yes you read that right, Hard Rock Sofa, Matisse & Sadko AND Swanky Tunes have all combined to make a track. That is 7 producers for one track. All that is left is to add Arty to the mix and we have a real party. I wonder who had a big enough studio / enough vodka for all of the them… Anyway, the track combines the big room tendencies of Matisse & Sadko with the grungy electro dispositions that we have seen in recent tracks from Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes — all balanced with a quick alternating bass line.
