The track originally started out as just tyDi & Toni Neilson working together in an NYC studio, but thankfully Finnish duo Maison & Dragen were added to the mix and added the energy and big room intensity it needed. The track wastes no time getting to the chase with a powerful opening that slowly tails off into a smooth piano build, letting Toni Nielson’s magnificent vocals shine, ushering in an anthemic, driving synth laden drop. Of the packed music Monday we had yesterday, this may be the gem of them all. Watch out for Maison & Dragen this year, they will be making some noise. “Walk On Water” is part of tyDi’s “When I Go” EP that features 4 originals and an outstanding remix from Arnej.

Progressive House | Maison & Dragen – Hour Of The Wolf

Finish duo Maison & Dragen are vastly underrated, consistently putting out top flight productions that consistently push the boundaries of genre, mixing and molding elements of progressive, electro and even a slight touch of trance. Following up their “Sweet Melody” remix and “Children” bootleg, their new single “Hour Of The Wolf” on Zouk Recordings combines big room melodies with well timed electro stabs in this track that continues to build and build, adding new layers at each turn.

Progressive House | Alex Kunnari ft. Jon Hall – Sweet Melody (Maison & Dragen Remix)

Posted by on October 3, 2012

Finish duo Maison & Dragen follows up their massive “Children” bootleg with another huge remix that has seen heavy support from Ferry Corsten among others. The track starts by emphasising Jon Hall’s excellent vocals over a big room build and then drops into high energy grinding synths, layered over pitched synth chords and fine key play. Maison & Dragen show us once again that Sweden is not the only Scandinavian country worthy of praise as Finland shows the signs of becoming a hotbed of dance music talent.

DO SOMETHING

Progressive House | Robert Miles – Children (Maison & Dragen 2012 Reboot)

Posted by on September 27, 2012

If you don’t know who Finnish duo Maison & Dragen are by now, here is your chance. Having already had major success in 2012 with remixes of Paul Oakenfold’s “Surrender” and “The Night Out”, as well as their huge single “Wet Dreams“, the time is ripe for their breakthrough. They rinse out this classic (give it a whirl for old times sake) with its instantly identifiable piano melody and give it a 2012 makeover, slowing down the tempo, adding a big room element to the track, while remaining true to that infallible melody. Taking on classics is not a feat to be taken lightly and must be done with the most care because rarely do they ever do the original justice. While the 1996 classic remains a time tested wonder, this reboot has properly paid tribute to “Children”.

One of Finland’s finest house / trance products, Maison & Dragen have released their highly supported single “Wet Dreams”. The Finish duo puts together a melody warranting the highest praise with agile key work, a fast paced bass line, and layered synth melodies in support. This is a track that packs a massive punch from beginning to end and will be a progressive anthem this summer. Also included is the latest edition of their hour long mix that starts off with some tech and smooth progressive tracks and then moves into heavier progressive and electro. A solid hour mix to get you through the week. Tracklist after the jump.
