In light of that he let loose this new video for “Lamp City Family” which will be featured on the album. A couple weeks back I presented you with Cam Meekins’ newest song “Inhale”. After accumulating over 35,000 plays via Soundcloud we now have the visuals to accompany it. Per usual, Cam helps direct the video along with Goodwin, giving it that simple yet authentic feel his videos comprise of. At the end of the video the album artwork for Cam’s upcoming album Lamp City flashes. If you missed it, you can check it out along with the explanation of why he choose it here. Catch Cam live at one of his upcoming shows in Boston or Brooklyn using the link below!

Hailing from Boston, young Cam Meekins’ just let loose this melodic self-produced track in light of his 20th birthday. The thing that intrigues me about Cam is that he sets himself apart from other upcoming artists in the same “league”. From producing his own beats down to his ever-changing lyrical style, he’s constantly working to make his music original. If you’ve been listening to him as long as I have you know that each project he’s dropped sounds completely different from the last. He does have an upcoming album Lamp City in the works which is completely produced by Cam himself, so be on the lookout! If you’re in the Boston area he is set to perform at Brighton Music Hall on April 18th so check that out and grab tickets using the link below.

The Lamp City kid, Cam Meekins, is back with his newest song and video release. I present to you “This & That” produced by and featuring Chuck Inglish, well known for his work in the group The Cool Kids before splitting up in late 2012. I’ve always been a fan of Cam’s work and this track is no different. He’s constantly showing progression through his music whether its rapping, producing or directing, he does it all. Congrats to him for having his video for “Rain” recently hit the 1 milli club on YouTube.

Cam Meekins just dropped this fresh self-produced track, “Sharks”. It samples “Enemies” by Vancouver independent artist Hannah Georgas. Cam always picks some nice samples, from “Cut Me Off” to “Obedear”, this is no exception. If you didn’t know, Cam has a show coming up on 8/31 at Webster Hall for those of you in New York. You can get tickets here!

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Cam Meekins – :) :/ :( [Mixtape]

Cam Meekins’ free album :) :/ :( is finally here. After hearing multiple tracks off the project such as “Cut Me Off” & “#FuckYoBitch”, I knew Cam was onto something different compared to his past projects. I’ve listened to the entire mixtape and it indeed has a totally different sound. In Cam’s beginning he used to make songs where he’d sing hooks over beats that had a more pop sound such as tracks from the Dancing With The Stars mixtape. Cam is now proving his lyrical abilities and still singing as well, but with a more developed sound. Going in over relatively simple beats while keeping the baseline heavy. I recommend this to anyone looking for something new.
