Throttle drips with talent which he puts to use with his newest remix of Conrad Sewell’s “Hold Me Up”. This tune gives the vibe of a lit-up dance floor with a bunch people wearing bell bottoms and a creepy guy in the corner with a massive afro… my kind of party. In all seriousness this song is fire and is sure to get the party moving in the right direction. Always love hearing Throttle’s unique production style. Give it a listen and get your freak on.

House | Leon Lour Remix Eric Prydz’s “Pjanoo” Classic

Posted by on January 7, 2015

Holy smokes! Just when I thought I’d never hear another good Eric Prydyz “Pjanoo” remix one of my favorite Youtube channels goes and releases an incredible tune out of nowhere. Talk about kicking off 2015 with a bang. Little is known about this London based producer, but what can be gleaned from his socials is that he’s a football fan, likes beer, and big fat tunes. Sounds like my kind of guy.

Leon Lour’s “Pjanoo” remix is available now on Eton Messy Records. *Fedora Tip*

Future House | Jack U Recruit Tchami To “Take U There”

Posted by on December 18, 2014

Diplo and Skrillex recruit enigmatic priest-garb wearing future house purveyor Tchami to put his incredible touch on “Take U There” featuring IDJ’s Kiesza. This remix is so good, it makes me want to pound a million shots of that anti-freeze laced Fireball and throw myself out a high-rise building. Just when I thought he would utilize those Tchami snyths we get an entirely new sound. Just incredible. I can’t wait to go deep with this tune all weekend. Tchami’s “Take U There” drops December 23 via OWSLA / Mad Decent, which can’t come quickly enough. Tchami. I need more Tchami! Tooooo good. [H/T HT]

FYI | Why Krewella’s Billboard Op-Ed Missed The Mark

Every blog is talking about it. Earlier today, Jahan of Krewella released an exclusive Op-Ed via Billboard (with an insanely manipulative click-bait title) that addressed the recent lawsuit and breakup of EDM’s crossover supergroup. There real story here isn’t even the personally penned piece. It’s how Jake Udell continues to gain this kind of traction online for his clients, but I digress.

In the beginning of the Op-Ed, Jahan describes Krewella as “the most hated group in the electronic dance music scene” which isn’t far from the truth at the moment. It’s a shame considering their meteoric rise. However, it’s a lesson everyone should understand: perception is reality in the dance space. While the jury is still out on whether the sisters are responsible for pushing Kris out or not (we’re not making any claims either way) they have an image problem and it seems evident Krewella knows this. That’s why they posted this carefully calculated (tone-def) op-ed on Billboard today to quell some of the backlash.

Although legendary FreshNewTracks.com overlord and former blogger “GMONEY” is long retired, he’s still a track hound, scouring the internet for the best sounds. He routinely surprises me, finding obscure tunes that I could have never found myself. Earlier today, he got me familiar with CASSIMM’s “Shake Sofa & Inner Rebels – All Night Long” remix, which is one of a kind. Released a few months ago, this is a remix that didn’t receive the love it should have gotten. Give this remix a second chance. It’s catchy.
