Electro, Hip-Hop, Trap | Cashmere Cat – Rice Rain (Twinztrack Remix)

Posted by on February 15, 2014

This rework of Cashmere Cat‘s “Rice Rain” is fun and catches your attention right off the bat. Personally, I love the use of the rain drop sample… so perfectly constructed. Twinztrack is definitely on my radar now.

Electro | DSK CHK Debuts “WIL” (What Is Love)

Posted by on February 9, 2014

Recently debuted for a packed house on the final set of the infamous Groove Cruise 10 Year Anniversary, “WIL” brought the crowd to a roar. The SHM classic style chords mixed with nasty drop that bangs out on all cylinders has been teased now for quite awhile. DSK CHK intro’s a new protege only known as “Brink” and consistent with the DC packaging, there is little known about the artist in the cameo.

DSK CHK leaves us with a steaming hot trailer that would make 50 Shades of Grey look like a high school date. You MUST check this out, but warning, this is not work place friendly!
Check the trailer here:

Listen to the infamous Sunrise Closing set on Groove Cruise Miami 2014 here! Which will soon be available for free download so check back shortly!

Electro-House, Progressive House | Chris Avantgarde – Colours, Discovery

Posted by on February 5, 2014

chris avantgarde
Chris Avantgarde is a relatively unknown German producer who, aside from the mysterious release on Size that has yet to come to fruition, has largely flown under the radar. Although his releases have been few and far between, he has been busy producing and is now providing us with a constant stream of tracks. “Colours” and “Discovery” are his first two songs he has given away. “Colours” is a typical progressive track lead by a big melody and “Discovery” is his take on electro house and the current festival sound. The drop in “Discovery” is not the most inspired but the breakdown in it is great.

Our friends over at Monstercat hit me with a track by UK duo Lets Be Friends “FTW” that is leaving me completely stumped and inspired! Rarely does my jaw drop, and lead me to ask “what the fuck is this?” in the most positive way possible. Lets Be Friends went hard with this production, and as the title states, they went straight for the win! If you happen to add this to your playlist for the car, make sure you check your sped-o-meter, you might catch yourself doing over 100mph and not realize it, that’s how hard this goes. This is hands down a must listen and support by copping it on Beatport!

Videos | Above & Beyond Acoustic – Full Concert Live

Posted by on January 27, 2014

above & Beyond acoustic live

Take an hour and 23 minutes out of your day and watch this video. Seriously do it. It features a full string ensemble, drums, a full compliment of singer, and even a guy sweeping the floor (just watch). Of course, Tony, Paavo and Jono are showing off that they are more than just guys who hit play and drag and drop presets, but real musicians. It is a fresh and beautiful take on their own material, from Ocean Lab to “Group Therapy”. The album comes out tomorrow and if you knows whats good for you, the purchase will be made. We also will have a nice giveaway to accompany it. Pre-order the album here.

Progressive House | The Two Friends ft. Jeff Sontag & I Am Lightyear – Brighter

The sweet, sultry, delicate voice of Blair, Leighton Meester’s character in Gossip Girl is the closest parallel I can draw to Jeff Sontag’s vocals in his, I am Lightyear and The Two Friends’ “Brighter”. The two vocalists perform a duet under the moonlight as well as over the production by The Two Friends, making it rather unique. It has a similar feel to many of their previous tracks in that it puts the vocals on display with a soft instrumental and then it turns it up for the build and drop, which again features a light, catchy melody (I guess).

Electro-House | Disco Fries – Murika (Tommie Sunshine & Live City Remix)

Posted by on January 22, 2014

Disco Fries - Murika (Tommie Sunshine & Live City Remix)Live City & the edm Jesus, Tommie Sunshine, collabed last year alone 5 times, so it is fitting that they would get right to it in 2014 with another remix effort. They unleash a fireball of a remix, with an acid-tinged, electro drop, over a punchy, rolling bass line. These three have been coming together on some big tunes, and this remix is no different. Don’t forget to check out the two Disco Fries originals that are also on the EP.
