With support from Datsik, Infuze released this EP today, fittingly titled “Release Yourself”. This three track monster is filled with dubstep and amazing vocals from Charlie Fox and Bailey Smalls. I love finding new dubstep gems, and with support from Datsik and a release on Firepower Records you know it has got to be good. My favorite track is the first, “Release Yourself”, because of the heavier sound, but they all are classics and each bring something different to the table. Grab it on Beatport.

Ever since the explosion of dubstep / brostep in 2011, its infusion with rap has become much more commonplace with bigger and bigger names taking part. The most notable and successful example would be ASAP Rocky, Skrillex & Birdy Nam Nam “Wild For The Night”, which broke through on radio and into the mainstream, commercial audience. You can now add another notable collab to the list, with Doctor P, Adam F and Method Man all coming together on one track “The Pit”. The VIP relies more on the low end and robotic sounds, rather than the high-pitched piercing effects that Doctor P has made his living using in his productions.

Dubstep | Konec – The Void (Ft. Anna Yvette) + Exclusive Interview

It has been a great pleasure watching Konec grow as an artist over the past year and even more exciting to see what the future holds for this young talent. After months of hard work he is on the verge of his new EP release entitled ‘Futures EP’ on Datsik’s label, Firepower Records. It’s great to see an artist work so hard and receive the credit they deserve for the countless hours they spend working on their craft. Up until now we have been getting little glimpses of Konec’s EP through mixes, but with the EP release in four days we finally get a free download of what I consider to be one of the most emotional dubstep tracks I have heard thus far this year. Anna Yvette has clearly been busy working with some of the best producers around and she deserves her recognition just as much as Konec does. With the EP release soon approaching, I recommend everyone listen to the iTunes previews of the tracks and Pre-order the EP right after, because it is going to be worth the purchase. Up to this point I have only see positive responses about the EP and imagine only better things to come. Events | Moonrise Festival 6/8 – 6/9

Baltimore’s bass heavy Starscape Festival has been known for showcasing up and coming talent, mixed with some established names in the bass heavier end of dance music — all at a great price. However, the creators of Starscape decided that after 14 years it needed a makeover to bring it up to speed with the bigger is better festival culture here in America. The festival has expanded from its traditional one day format to 2 days, 12 hours each day at the Sun Park in downtown Baltimore.
This expansion and rebranding has brought new names and sounds to the lineup, from trance to hip hop, to the more traditional sounds of electro and dubstep. Big names like Eric Prydz, Datsik, Pretty Lights, Doctor P, Paul van Dyk, Porter Robinson, Nero, Flux Pavilion, Krewella and more will be gracing the stages in Baltimore that early summer weekend. The track that was the anthem to Datsik’s latest tour, The Firepower Tour, has been remixed in crazy fashion by two up coming artist named Melamin and Wicked Sway. As if the original wasn’t a crazed banger already, this remix is disgusting on a whole other level. Adding some more rhythm to the original and spicing up this classic into a more updated version that is sure to send the crowds going crazy.

Big ups to Darkstep Warrior’s channel for this awesome freebie upload from Bong. This track is definitely not for the light hearted. Bong has created a monster VIP to a track that he is going to be releasing on Datsik’s record label, Firepower Records, later. I have to say the original is no slouch of a track either both bringing a dark and heavy presence. Grab the free download HERE.
