Albums, Review | Dada Life – The Rules Of Dada (Album Review)

Following their debut album “Just Do The Dada” back in 2009, Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom, better known to the world through their outrageous musical personality, Dada Life, return with their sophomore full album release “The Rules Of Dada”. When you click play on any Dada Life release, you have to be in the right mind set to be ready to absorb what you are about to be hit with. Subtle complexities are not the name of the game with Dada Life. It is about smashing you in the mouth with as big and an energetic a sound as one can make. Nothing more, nothing less. The rules of dada require it so. It may not be fair to give them a separate set of rules, but the bananas and champagne men have forged their own path in such a way that they have earned them.

Albums | Is this the future of EDM events?

“Fantazia 360” by NV Concepts (explained in the video above) ventures outside the norm by incorporating a theatrical experience into its show. The goal behind their movement is obvious; to supplement the monotonous stage productions seen elsewhere and start a new breed of EDM events. Will Fantazia 360 set a new precedent? Will Tiesto, Avicii, Dada Life, etc start to feature the likes of acrobats and fire breathers? I think NV Concepts is moving in the right direction by trying to add more performance value to shows so I’d like to see this progression come to fruition. However, I’m weary that the unauthentic party goers of our time will continue to settle for less.

Here is a collection of the artist aftermovies from Electric Zoo that have been released so far. First up Nicky Romero brings us back to Friday afternoon with his high energy set packed with brand new and unreleased tracks, including “Iron” that is featured in this video. Next we have Axwell who as he gets ready for his onelasttour with SHM put together a great set on Saturday MainStage. The video also features an upcoming remix by Tommy Trash of The Aston Shuffle – Won’t Get Lost, out soon on Axtone. Mainstream Remix | Dotcom Remixes

Originally known for his mashups, Dotcom decided to step out of the box and venture into the world of originals. All I can say to that is we’re sure as hell glad he did. Below are two remixes he just released and their filthy to say the least. Dotcom takes Dada Life’s already heavy “Feed the Dada” and infuses it with enough heavy synths and deep base to give the track a complete makeover. Big ups to Dotcom, keep an eye on this kid.

This is selection of not only the MainStage, but also Riverside and Hilltop, though it is a bit disappointing that none of the Sunday School sets were recorded. Anyway there a lot of these sets so get to listening if you haven’t finished up on Day 1 yet.

Electro-House | Dada Life – Feed The Dada (Original + Dyro Mix)

Dada Life provides us with what they have said to be the “biggest drop ever” in their latest single “Feed The Dada”, and while it is disputable whether or not this is the biggest drop ever, there is not denying the power in the song. The music video shows people’s uncontrollable urge to rage to this track, showing an almost religious devotion to the dada. The song is not for the lighthearted and with superb vocals bringing in the intense drop, it is the perfect single to welcome their album coming soon this fall. Rising dutch phenom, Dyro adds a little more bite to the track with grungier chords and a varying pitched synth line to create a remix that may be just as good or better than the original. Be sure to enter Dada Land this fall as they tour North America.
