Electro, Hip-Hop | New Affiliated Artist: Brenton Duvall
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 8, 2010

I’d like to introduce our latest addition to the FNT affiliated artist team, Brenton Duvall. This 19 year old producer and remix artist from Washington, D.C., currently in his sophomore year at the University of Colorado. In less than a year, he has managed to discover an audience with a string of critically acclaimed remixes featuring all original production. By using a unique blend of pop, hip-hop, and electro sounds accompanied by catchy samples, Brenton has been able to create a distinct sound in this college game. Keep an eye on this young-gun in the months to come. Below is a new track which might just be Brents best project.
Brenton Duvall – Mean Planes & Taylor Gangs (Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Swift) (5 Stars)
Previously: Brenton Duvall – Hell Yeah! (Ludacris and Raekwon)
Previously: Brenton Duvall – Against a Mad World
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Tayyib Ali – Eighteen (Mixtape)

Justin Bieber vs MSTRKRFT – Heartbreaker Baby — (5 stars) great party song (previously posted)
Justin Bieber – Baby (El-P Death Remix) — ( 4.5 stars) Slower really cool remix, get this (previously posted)
Jewcebox edit: Biebers tracks are listenable to. Is he talented? Nope. Do Usher and engineers tune his voice to make it twice the voice it really is? Yep. Do I think he’s one of the greatest artists in the industry? Nope. Do I hate every single person (including “A”) that goes out of their way to say they hate him. Yep. Go ahead and hate on Bieber, go ahead and blame his success on the millions of young girls (and college girls and guys, whether they’ll admit it or not), but at the end of the day he makes straight hits and he’s killing it, you can’t argue that (he’s 3% of twitter). His management knows he’s a marketing machine and they utilize him to his full potential. Is he the soul of good music in todays industry? Hell no. That’s not my point by any means. Let the hate commence and the knowledgable share.

“Still living with your mom giving her a hard time, she can pay for your college but she can’t pay for street knowledge”
Well, I just knew somebody would fire back at the half transformer half ninja turtle. I can’t say he didn’t deserve it though. This guy just keeps giving me more and more material. He still lives with his mom? Are you kidding me? I guess that’s what happens when you’re on probation for slanging drugs. Webby just got torn to pieces though. We’ll take the song down for you Chris, but I want your apology on my desk by 5. Be sure to read the articles and listen to the track that sparked the controversy with the bottom feeder below. Hit the jump to see the transportation we’ve purchased for Chris from the proceeds of all the extra “ninja” traffic.

Of all the new tracks posted below, “Free To Be” is easily my favorite and yet Loggy is the least well-known artist of the bunch. Sure, he’s on an Akon beat, which as we said in the past doesn’t hurt, but his vibe compliments the big feature flawlessly. Has this wave of semi-professional college artists poisoned my ears, or am I right on this one?
LOGGY – Free To Be feat. Akon (Remix) (4.5 Stars)
Black And Yellow seems to be the hottest hook and beat in the remix scene right now. Here’s another impressive one, our Wale fans should dig this one.
Wale – Mike Tomlin (Black & Yellow Freestyle) (4 Stars)
Interesting take on this solid beat – be on the lookout for a filthyy remix by Collin Mcloughlin.
Teairra Mari – Deuces (Remix) (4 Stars)
N.E.R.D. – Nothing On You (3.5 Stars)
Busta Rhymes – 80’s Baby (Feat. Wyclef Jean) (3.5 Stars)

Up and coming college supergroup M.A.C. (which includes Aziz) finally comes through with the highly anticipated visuals for their smash hit, “Tic Tac Toe”. I can’t front, I love the video and the concept. For more information on M.A.C. be sure to follow them on Twitter here. As a bonus, be sure to hit the jump to check out Aziz’s official video for “Power In Attention”. Shout out to Maxwell Zotz!

Let me give you some background on this FNT premier. I decided to pay a visit to the stomping grounds of these up and coming college rappers last month largely due to the fact that the rough cut of this track immediately grabbed my attention. I needed to witness the talents in motion at their makeshift yet professional sounding studio. After clowning on one another for a short while these dudes laid down the following absolutely ill track. If you’ve been searching for something slightly different, yet still within range of your rap comfort zone give this track a shot.
