Albums | Future house maestros Electric Polar Bears bring the heat with heart-thumping single “Fever”

Posted by on January 28, 2024

Future house maestros Electric Polar Bears are kicking off 2024 with a series of singles that seamlessly combine innovation with the unwavering nature of their signature sound.

Staying true to their unique persona and branding, the Electric Polar Bears (who go by the names Zero and Snowball) have embraced a persona that combines the playful and quirky charm of polar bears with the high-energy world of electronic dance music. Known for their knack of curating a fun and whimsical atmosphere, the duo craft full sensory experiences where they combine 3000 LED heads, powerful confetti cannons, captivating lasers, frost machines, and an enchanting penguin parade—all set against the backdrop of their vibrant, lively house beats.

Their signature party-starting antics combined with their infectious sound and magnetic performance style have led to collaborations with notable artists such as Paris Hilton, Nitti Gritti, and TyDi; support from industry tastemakers like Afrojack, Alison Wonderland, Deorro, and Illenium; performances at renowned festivals, including Decadence Arizona, Water Castle Carnival, Global Dance Festival, Give Thanks, and Amsterdam Dance Event; and a showcase at Paris Hilton‘s Neon Wedding, cementing their status as a rising force in the music industry. The duo’s bi-weekly radio show, Igloo Radio, has also been syndicated to stations on five different continents, including Insomniac Radio.

2023 was huge for the polar bear-headed duo, a monumental year that saw them release their uplifting, retro-futurist Where We Started EP; reunite with pop culture icon Paris Hilton to remix her 2023 single, “Hot One“; and join forces with globally-certified, platinum-selling artist Deorro to release their energetic, big room house single “Front to Back.”

Now, fresh off the heels from their Decadence Arizona performance, Electric Polar Bears unveil their electrifying single “Fever” – a boundary-pushing track whose bouncy, vibrant presentation encourages listeners to release tension, lose themselves in the music, and let the rhythm take control. Expertly crafted via the duo’s finely tuned creative synergy – the song flexes a seamless concoction of Snowball’s keyboard skills and Zero’s rhythmic prowess – “Fever” sees Electric Polar Bears embark on a euphoric, infectious journey that’s sure set the dance music scene ablaze.

Fever” kicks off with mesmerising arpeggiated chord progressions that hypnotically weave through the composition, accompanied by a vocal sample that chants “I got that fever.” Next, the track builds with anticipation before bursting into a cacophony of explosive rhythms and bass – a heart-thumping house beat that kicks off 2024 in style.

Aimed to propel listener’s into a world of dancefloor bliss, “Fever” acutely embodies the next chapter of Electric Polar Bear’s journey, a track destined to leave an indelible mark on listeners across the globe.

We’re thrilled to unleash ‘Fever,’ our latest single that’s set to turn up the heat and melt the ice. It’s a track that fuses our love for frosty vibes with fiery rhythms, creating a dance anthem that’s both cool and hot at the same time! – Electric Polar Bears

Hardwell’s career can briefly be described as a whirlwind of success, but his new documentary I Am Hardwell – Living the Dream gives us a detailed look into the life of one of the biggest DJs in the world. Following Hardwell through his solo tour, as he visits 34 cities around the world, the documentary masterfully captures the true energy of a Hardwell show. The film’s trailer was premiered at Amsterdam Dance Event, followed by screenings in his home country of the Netherlands. Directed by Robert Piree, the same director of the 2013 documentary I Am Hardwell, the film takes a look at the Dutch producer’s start in DJing through his continued international success and ever-evolving artistic and musical visions.

Events, Featured | Countdown to ADE Spotlight: Kastle

Posted by on October 1, 2013

Today is October 1st, which means in 16 short days Fresh New Tracks will be jetting off to the Netherlands for ADE: Amsterdam Dance Event, a five-day electronic music festival, conference, and playground taking over the city. Leading up to ADE, we’ll be filling you in on just who and what we’re looking forward to seeing most. And if any of you out there have any insider tips on the best acts to catch, drop either VMan or myself a line and we’ll be sure to add it to our list.

After browsing through the hundreds of artists set to play at ADE, Kastle’s name was the one that lingered with me the most. The producer//philosopher has beautifully maintained a characteristic, innovative sound over the period of his career thus far. If there’s any slight possibility you’ve found yourself unacquainted with Kastle and his work (which really shouldn’t be the case), then let us give you a little background. Kastle’s music tests the limits of art and expression, ranging all the way across the spectrum from electronic dub, garage, and house to R&B and hip-hop.  Kastle himself, also known as Barrett Richards, is in an artistic sense a renaissance man by constantly exploring the virtues of all forms of art and philosophy. Browsing his Facebook, you might stumble upon an assortment of great music along and thought-provoking quotations with corresponding photos. I’m particularly fond of his Tumblr, which is almost like a window into Kastle’s seemingly infinite pool of inspiration.

Kastle will be headlining the Plafonddienst showcase at The Sugar Factory Thursday, October 17th. Joining him will be Liar, one of the newest additions to Kastle’s very own label, Symbols Recordings, and Tourist of the UK. I’ve heard rumors of these artists putting on live sets that are high energy and perhaps different than their typical sound, so I’m pretty anxious to see what these guys throw down. Keeping my fingers crossed for the Ellie Goulding remix Kastle dropped just a few days ago… (which is available for free download!)

Whether or not you make it out to Amsterdam for the weekend, be sure to indulge in Kastle’s vast selection of free downloads and his full length, self-titled album. While you’re at it, check out this interview with MTVHive where Kastle pairs cocktails with tracks from his album. Cheers!

DJ-Set, Electro | R3hab – ADE R3hab Showcase 2011

Posted by on October 13, 2011

If Avicii wasn’t so popular, I would say that R3hab would be the rising star of the year. He has released so many amazing original tracks on his own, remixes and collaborations this year, it is staggering. He is also able to keep a high level of quality with the quantity of tracks being released, which is hard to do. He has made the bleepy dutch sound accessible to many more people and is still evolving as an artist. The mix was made for Amsterdam Dance Event next weekend and all 15 of the songs in this hour long mix have been made this year. 2011 isn’t even over and he could do something huge in the next two months, but next year should be something else from him. Track list and a word about the mix from R3hab after the jump.
