Progressive House | Rachel Costanzo – Starlight (Marcus Santoro Remix)
Posted by Mel on July 29, 2014
Only a short while after his great remix of “One Way Home”, Marcus Santoro is back at it with another free track. Rachel Costanzo is a 16 year old artist local to Melbourne, the same place Santoro is from. He’s a fan of her, most likely thinks she’s cute, and didn’t acknowledge me when I jokingly asked for a shirtless pic from him, and so he was happy to remix her latest single. While it may not be his best track to date, it is still quality and another display of Santoro’s professional sounding productions.

Progressive House | Bebe Rexha – Drinking About You (The Chainsmokers Remix) [Preview]
Posted by Middy on July 29, 2014
It is time to turn the page on #Selfie, the disaster that was their appearance on American Idol and everything that had to do with that. The irony of Selfie is that it only made the situation worse. Alas, people are too dumb to realize when they are being made fun of. Time to get back to what got The Chainsmokers their fans who are more interested in the remixed artist then the best Instagram filter for their selfie.
Back with that, they have managed to get music ready for the end of the summer and this fall, despite an incredibly busy summer that has taken them all over the world, with more shows to come, including Electric Zoo. Turning that page they have another single “Kanye” out in a week and then this remix sometime in September.
Progressive House | Nick Double & Sam O Neall – Live Life (Original Mix)
Posted by VMan on July 29, 2014
New on my radar, Nick Double & Sam O Neall drop an uplifting progressive house banger “Live Life” via Spinnin Records, and it’s your pick me up for this gray Tuesday! With current support from Martin Garrix, Hardwell, David Guetta, Afrojack, and more, “Live Life” is turning into EDM’s new “YOLO.” The one thing I love about dance music, is its ability to touch people’s lives, and inspire. I’m not the biggest fans of big crowds, but when you see an ocean of people smiling, happy, and dancing, you know music has the power to change lives, and overall change the world. There’s a reason as to why this tune was one of the most played track at Tomorrowland, so let loose with this one, and enjoy! This is a must listen and a must download!

Progressive House | Sevag – The Heat
Posted by Middy on July 28, 2014
I saw Sevag open for Henrix & Wayne & Woods last fall and in talking to Henrix, he could not sing high enough praises for Sevag. Now close to a year later, the two of them have two collabs set for release soon, and Sevag has also become a favorite of Thomas Gold, opening for him at his Fanfare 100 event at Le Bain in NYC, as well earning a slot on Governor’s Island this weekend. His first single on Cr2 Records, “The Heat” brings exactly what it claims to do with in your face, tribal percussion that is both groovy and powerful. Grab the tune below and get ready for much more Sevag.

Progressive House | Steve Angello – Wasted Love ft. Dougy from The Temper Trap
Posted by Mel on July 23, 2014
The first single off Steve Angello’s upcoming album is out and it is as awesome as one would expect. The superb vocals and radio ready production destine this song to commercial success, much like how “Don’t You Worry Child” was. It’s not a huge surprise for there to be a song or two from the album that is catered to the mainstream and this is one of them. Even so, it’s a great track and a smart way to reintroduce the world to Steve Angello, the solo artist.

Progressive House | Tom Staar & Ansolo – Totem
Posted by Middy on July 22, 2014
I told you the story of Ansolo and FNT in my last post so it is incredible to see him with his mentor Tom Staar releasing a tune on one of the most prestigious dance labels around, Size Records. We have seen a return to the bounce in dance music, not just what Melbourne has been doing for quite some time that is making waves across the world, but also groovier bass lines finding their way back into big time dance music. This tune has it all with an irresistible low end and a surprisingly soothing melody all wrapped up with strong tribal influences. It has already hit number 10 on the iTunes dance chart, so grab “Totem” below.
