The homie Ravi B. sent over his latest remix of Maroon 5’s “Maps” and for all you progressive house fans, he took this one way out the park! On that double time, this is one I could hear on the radio blasting on a Friday night, dressed up for the night, with you girlfriend by your side, something cool, something memorable, which let’s face it the original isn’t really. Thanks to Ravi though you’re going to be able to make this Maroon 5 record matter! I’m loving this, it’s a must listen and a must download!

Progressive House | Hardwell & W&W – The Dance Floor Is Yours

A few months ago, during an interview at A State of Trance 650 in Utrecht, Hardwell offered the following response to Armin Van Buuren in regards to what his album might sound like:

“I’m experimenting with a lot of new, different sounds. I’m a bit sick of the same formula that’s going on in EDM right now so I’m just trying to change boundaries and look at what’s going on in the rest of the world. Even in the hip hop scene and the trance scene and try to combine as much as possible.” [VIDEO]

I’m going to let that marinate as you listen to this new offering from Hardwell. Ha!

Progressive House | Calvin Harris feat. John Newman – Blame

Posted by on September 5, 2014

I love Calvin Harris. Not in your college-aged sorority chick that listens to nothing but progressive house and goes to Coachella wearing an Indian headdress and flash tattoos way. I actually like him because I think his production is a cut above. Sure Hardwell is the number one DJ, but Harris has achieved cross over status. This new release from Harris though? It’s not getting the job done. The writing is great. The vocals are great. The drop is..uneventful. John Newman is brilliant as always, but Calvin really missed the boat on this one. This had the potential to become a mega-smash solidifying his summer reign. In the grand scheme of things, this review won’t hurt “Blame’s” performance one bit. We don’t intend it to. Regardless, we have to call it like we see it. Calvin Harris’ new “Blame” single out now on Sony (UK) is a dud of a track.

Progressive House | Michael Brun & DubVision Ft. Tom Cane – Sun In Your Eyes

Michael Brun & DubVision ft. Tom Cane - Sun In Your Eyes (Preview)

There are few things like a great melody. These three, DubVision and Michael Brun are very adept at creating those monstrous, moving melodies that don’t sound stale next to tracks in the same genre at the time. UK singer, Thomas Havelock aka Tom Cane adds some super vocals for some great singalong moments throughout the tune. Michael Brun’s label Kid Coconut is doing quite well in its first two releases and we are excited to see what else he has to come.

Progressive House | Pierce Fulton – Kuaga / Noon Gun

Pierce Fulton - Kuaga

Out now, Pierce Fulton has released two more originals for your auditory pleasure. “Kuaga” we already previewed for you guys with its chants similar to those in Above & Beyond’s “Prelude”. “Kuaga” could be a legitimate hit for Pierce as it is already getting support from some top level guys and being played at the end of summer festivals by names like Dada Life. “Noon Gun” is in the same mold of a tune like “Mr Mime” with its rolling bass line and quick synth work, so do not sleep on this one.

Progressive House | Heffron Drive – Parallel (Mack & Jet Set Vega Remix)

The homies from Miami, Mack &  Jet Set Vega, hit us with a stellar progressive house remix of Heffron Drive’s “Parallel,” and if Zedd can drop a “Magic” remix and everyone goes gaga, so can Mack and Jet Set, and I’m pretty sure the crowd would go crazy if this was dropped at a festival, speaking out of experience, after hearing what I heard at Ezoo this week, anthemic progressive house still bangs! With an epic melodic buildup, to an “everybody jump” drop without the cheesy tag line, this remix will leave you inspired. This is a must listen!

There are plenty of  “Sleepless” remixes out there, but Steve James’ takes it for me. Having discovered the track on DJ Skee’s new internet radio station Dash Radio , and noticing that our friends at YourMusicRadar picked up in this tune as well, I had to give it a proper FNT feature! Up for free download, ya’ll know the song already, so get that! Oh, and to top it off, the kid is 16 years old, already sounds like Avicii, and has an official remix of Zhu’s “Faded” which comes out September 1st via Spinnin Records! This is a must listen and a must downlaod!
