Monstercat has been great at supporting up and coming acts right when they are getting noticed. For that reason I have found some releases to sound a little unpolished, but you have to take a step back and look at the overall talent of these kids. One release that sounds polished and arising from UK producer, Draper. The opening track “Coloured Glass” was previewed last week and has taken off across the internet, but now we are able to hear the rest of the EP. My two favorites are the bookending tunes that have totally different tones, with the energetic melodies in “Coloured Glass” and the soothing pads of “With You”. Not only does Cr2 Records do a good job at snagging up and coming talent, but they also support their tunes with excellent remix packages. One these remix packs, for Jumpstar’s tune “We Did Alright” utilizes an iconic male voice in dance music, Ron Carroll.
Henrix & Sevag has become quite the potent duo, with their single “Latina” coming out not too long ago on Cr2 Records and now this remix in the same groovy style we heard in “Latina”. The Golden Boy gives the tune a nice deep house flip that jives just right with the overall ambiance of the song.

Under the name “Andino & Kelvin” these dudes released their first remix ever and accumulated 100K plays in just 6 days with zero social media numbers to back them (unheard of). This tune has been hit with an exorbitant amount of remixes, but I urge you to listen to one more. Moiez back to the old style he did on “Flight” for a more progressive trance sound that would possibly jive with Anjunabeats, adding some big, cascading synth chords to the tune. This is free, so there is no downside to getting this one.

I don’t care what anyone says, progressive house is not dead, and Steve James is the future of it, his remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Beating Heart,” which was just premiered on PopOnAndOn.com is the hottest and most exciting thing I’ve heard all today! I have no doubt you will love this FNT, it’s epic, anthemic, and every you would hope for in a progressive house remix. I’m going to be playing this track on repeat for the rest of the day, thanks Steve and Ellie! This is a must listen and a must download!

Patrick Hagenaar just made my morning with his latest original “Come Closer,” and I hope it makes yours as well! With full support from Tiesto, Bingo Players, Vicetone, and more, there’s no question this track is an anthem and has the power to touch many,the power to make them dance, and make them feel great! This is personally the kind of music that brought me into dance music, the times of Gigi D’Agostino, David Guetta, Ian Van Dahl (remember?), and those vocals just do it for me! Currently out via Flashover Recordings, this is a must listen and a must download, hands down!

Like Kanye the person, The Chainsmokers are used to playing shortened festival sets (E Zoo last Sunday). The similarities end there. The Chainsmokers rendition of Kanye has become a hit, not on the accidental and obnoxious level of #SELFIE, but impressive considering it is just their second original to hit the interwebz. Peep the video and feel like Kanye.
