Electro-House | Chris Lake & Marco Lys – La Tromba (Chris Lake & Nom De Strip Remix)
Posted by Middy on June 1, 2013
As I said, I would be back with some Beatport releases, but this one is worth it. There have been very few this week, but give this one a shot. Rising Music boss, Chris Lake teams up with Scottish producer, Nom de Strip to revamp Chis Lake’s 2009 collaboration with Marco Lys “La Tromba” or for everyone who’s Italian is a bit rusty “Trumpet”. Nom de Strip, who is still riding high on the success of “Techno Saturday” brings that style to this track, melding his gritty electro sound with Chris Lake’s diverse melodic styles.
The track keeps the important horns from the original, while adding a burly low end and subtle nuances that make this remix an outstanding tribute to this 2009 original that has stood the test of time. Doing these types of remixes can be a tricky business because they may ruin the original, but this one adds a different feel and brings back the memory of the 2009 track.

Electro-House | Mikael Weermets – Panorama
Posted by Middy on June 1, 2013
Boom, another free download from me, how rare. Don’t worry I will be back to my Beatport posting ways soon enough, but for now enjoy this free download, because Mikael Weermets brings some heat. As a thank you to the fans for supporting him for the past 10 years, Swedish Dj / producer, Mikael Weermet has released “Panorama” for free. The track combines chunky electro elements with a big room melodic interlude, making this an ideal addition to his recent heavyset discography.
Inspired by a festival last summer, this track as he said “wrote itself” from the energy of the day before and soon turned into one of his most requested tracks to date. It has already been supported by the likes of Tiesto, Deniz Koyu, Matisse & Sadko, Michael Calfan & Tristan Garner, so take that as an indication that it is a worthwhile addition to your library as well.

Electro-House | Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso – 555 (9Five Re-Edit)
Posted by Middy on May 30, 2013
So the story behind this song is a bit confusing, but I have slowly started to piece together what is going on here. 9Five is a Swedish duo that have remained under the radar to many people, but are ready to burst onto the scene with a hard drive filled with outstanding IDs. This edit you may recognize from Axwell’s Carlsberg “Where’s The Party” ad last year that really shocked people with its in your face style not familiar to what Axwell normally produces, while more acute listeners IDed it as an edit of Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello‘s “555?. We have waited a long time for any info on this track and for it to be released like this is outstanding. It has already been supported by the likes of Axwell and Tommy Trash, with that list surely expected to grow. Now out for free download, you would be remiss not to immediately get this free download from 9Five that is sure to explode soon.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Empire of the Sun – Alive (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on May 28, 2013
Luke Steele & Nick Littlemore, better known as Empire of the Sun, have created enourmous buzz for their sophomore artist album “Ice On The Dune“, set for release June 18th, notably after the success of their 2008 album “Walking On A Dream”. The lead single “Alive“, has already been a huge hit for the duo and not surprisingly has been remixed by some of the best in dance music.
Fast rising stars, Zedd and Mat Zo take the daunting task of doing an official remix for Empire of the Sun and hit it out of the park. Mat Zo brings back his atmospheric synths of earlier productions, while adding his own quick synth progression, keeping an appropriate amount of the original and vocal for a nuanced approach to the track. Zedd adds his own touch to the song with a fidgety, gritty low end, growling synths and chopped vocals showing his ability to mold his electro sound to an indie-dance track like this. David Guetta and his production team bring “Alive” to the festival stage with an in your face drop of grinding synths and thumping bass. Fellow Australian, M4SONIC adds a glitchy twist to the track with his own blend of gritty synths and fast paced key play.
Electro-House, Trance | W&W – Thunder

Arguably the hottest producers right now, their singles “Lift Off” and “The Code“ are still heavily in circulation, while their “This Is What It Feels Like“ remix is the potent remix of choice for Armin van Buuren and many others. Not diverging from their bombastic sound, W&W unleash another massive track that follows much of the same structure and winning formula as “The Code”, providing an unrelenting bass line and thunderous synths.
One can criticize them for sticking to their sound too much or going with a sound that is becoming more and more common, but you have to remember that they helped bring this style to the mainstream and others followed them. Coming up, the gigantic Dutch duo have their collab with Hardwell, which was just recently finished, as well a few IDs on the way.

Electro-House | Bingo Players – Buzzcut
Posted by Middy on May 20, 2013
The Bingo Players have become synonymous with quality. Leading the way for their label, Hysteria Recordings, their singles from “Rattle” to “Out Of My Mind” have remained mainstays of DJ sets all across the spectrum. “Buzzcut” departs from their signature synth that has made their sound so unique and a cut above the pack, going for a grinding low end, with a punchy, hardstyle influenced, alternating bass line and teasing, pitched builds. Is this their strongest effort to date? I would have to say no, since it seems to merge towards the trends in dance music, instead of remaining unique, but it is still a good addition to the Bingo Players discography. Oh, and also if you want there is a video of Melanie Iglesias getting a glove show in almost no clothing with “Buzzcut” as the soundtrack, if you want to watch, up to you.

Electro-House | Krewella – Alive (Hardwell ‘The Final’ Remix)
Posted by Middy on May 17, 2013
You guys may be sick of this song by now with it getting plays on every popular radio station, but when a dance music heavyweight like Hardwell gets a hold of this, you have to listen. Hardwell has professed his love for Krewella‘s crossover hit single “Alive“, which recently went number one on Billboard’s dance chart, notably rinsing out the Cash Cash & Kalkutta remix during his sets, such as his highly acclaimed Ultra set. Hardwell decided to surprise the fast rising trio with a remix of his own, fitting the vocals to an instrumental that meshes with what he is bringing to his live show.
Krewella could not pass on the opportunity to make this official, thus the remix in front of you was born. It is clear the time Hardwell spent with W&W has influenced what he is bringing to his productions. The thunderous synths that we see from W&W creep their way into this remix as Hardwell mixes together the instantly recognizable vocals from Krewella with the perfect-for-the-live-show bombastic instrumental that he has created. Is that a hoverhand there Hardwell? C’mon man, don’t be shy, they don’t bite….too hard.
