Electro-House, Trap | Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball (Damn Wright Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 18, 2013
Like a literal wrecking ball, this song has overtaken our collective pop conscience with Miley’s nakedness and the subsequent reenactments. Damn Wright, formerly Moore and Henry Fong, now just Moore (less is more?), has taken the viral sensation “Wrecking Ball” from the tweekqueen twerkqueen Miley Cyrus and added his own spin on it. Damn Wright keeps the inescapable vocals intact, while adding a slow build and trapped out echoey, electro drop to really capture Miley’s angst and naked distress. Grab the track for free and give it a spin, pun intended.

Electro-House | Don Diablo & CID – Prototype
Posted by Middy on September 11, 2013
On the heals of the incredible successful single from Vicetone “Tremble“, Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings tries to replicate that with another single “Prototype”, from returning Dutchman, Don Diablo and CID. First premiered at Tomorrowland (Check Guetta’s facial expressions, priceless), the track is a grungy electro fireball, with a ting of acid to give it some extra grit. It has already seen support from the likes of Pete Tong, Baguetta, W&W, Afrojack and many more, so don’t sleep on this one.

Electro-House | Quintino & MOTi ft. Taylr Renee – Dynamite
Posted by Middy on September 9, 2013
There is something undeniably awesome about this track. Whether it is the quick succession of synth stutters and risers, or the groove that somehow fits itself into the rhythm, it all fits so well. This was the ID I left Pier 94 on NYE wanting the most and at last here it is. Thank you based Vorwerk. The singer Taylr Renne; look out for her. First she gets on Axwell & Sick Individuals’ track “I Am”, and now this. Watch for her to be singsonging her way around the dance music world very soon.
Electro-House | Blasterjaxx – Fifteen (Hardwell Edit)

I don’t usually like a lot of these festival-drop type of songs, but this one I have been waiting on for quite some time. Blasterjaxx have become one of the premier hit-makers in this market with tracks like “Miami”, “Faith”, “Puzzle” and now “Fifteen”. The track seems to sound the same, besides the vocals in the drop being changed from “Everybody Fucking Jump” to “Drop fifteen in the EDM scene”. Expect to hear this quite often this fall, if you haven’t been already, as dance music starts to move indoors.

Electro-House | Maddix – Splash
Posted by Middy on September 8, 2013
Maddix has gotten on the radar of plenty ever since his powerful single “Touching The Sky“. He follows up with another free original, “Splash”, which shows his continued progression as a producer. Maddix goes for a heavier production this time, with a melodic build and a drop of growling synths and succession heavy, reverbed kicks. Look for more from the Dutchman in the future as he looks to become yet another success story from the small dance music powerhouse.

Electro-House, Trance | Armin van Buuren ft. Cindy Alma – Beautiful Life (Protoculture & Mikkas Remixes)
Posted by Middy on September 8, 2013
Armin van Buuren’s second single from his fifth artist album “Intense”, “Beautiful Life” just got a small, but potent remix package from Protoculture and Mikkas. The Mikkas remix will be more popular with a wider audience, but the Protoculture remix brings out the best trance qualities this track has to offer, and then makes it even bigger. Mikkas adds his glitchy, electro-dub that has become quite popular on remixes like “Rewind”, while Protoculture adds a little more uplifting and goes for broke with as big a melody as you can get. Both remixes are very different and will appeal to different fans, but each are very, very good.

Electro-House | Avicii – You Make Me (Landis Bootleg)

I can’t wait for Avicii’s album. I really can’t. I was kind of down on him for a little while because he wouldn’t release any of his most touted stuff and his live show wasn’t really moving forward (besides standing on his manager’s head). Now things have shifted dramatically, and his new material is going to be a game changer. The second single from the album, “You Make Me”, fits in the context of the album, but on its own is a little whimsical at points and needed a remix. Landis does just that, injecting it with strong shot of electro, to give the track the energy it needed for a more outgoing setting. It’s free, so do not hesitate to grab this one from the rising American producer.
