Hip-Hop, Rap | Saba – Burnout (ft. Eryn Allen Kane)
Posted by admin on October 27, 2014
A few months ago I featured the Chicago emcee Saba for his single “Burnout”. Now the standout from the project has some accompanying visuals. The paper mache, animated scenes make Saba’s performance footage that much more interesting and show his ride through a dystopian Chicago landscape in a lens that could not have been predicted.
For any Los Angeles fans, Saba will be opening for the A$AP Mob as a part of Red Bull’s 30 Days in Concert series on November the 30th. Be sure to stop by, and enjoy the video from one of Chicago’s fastest rising stars.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Marc Goone – Mike Matheny
Posted by admin on October 20, 2014
After an extended hiatus, Marc Goone has returned with bigger and badder plans for his take over. First single, “Mike Matheny”, is a song about bad decisions. Marc’s tongue-in-cheek type of writing style makes for a hilarious, weird, and unique song.
It’s been nearly a year since Marc has released any music, but it’s clear that he’s spent the time off honing his voice and prepping for this forthcoming album.
Enjoy, “Mike Matheny”, and check back in soon for more from Marc Goone.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Pell – Wait On Me (ft. Dent May)
Posted by admin on October 10, 2014
The New Orleans emcee, Pell, has returned with his newest visual for “Wait On Me”. The video is put together well and Dent May compliments the chorus perfectly. The vibey sound makes it perfect to rock out alone to, or cruise around playing in the car.
Future projects are still undisclosed, but things appear to be heating up for Pell. With his melodic and soothing voice, it’s hard to imagine a world without his music infiltrating the airwaves.
Also, if you missed it, be sure to check out Pell’s live rendition of “Fresh Produce” here, and see his voice in action.
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes, Rap | Jon Waltz – Alyss (EP)

After numerous praise-worthy singles, the time has finally come for Jon Waltz’s full project. Accompanied by a unique story and visual representation, “Alyss”, proves to be an incredibly cohesive and well thought-out body of work.
In my mind, Waltz is still actively searching to find his voice, as well as his core audience. There are moments on the EP where one can hear obvious Drake influences, or perhaps the out layer of a Skizzy Mars shell that is shedding. That being said, Jon Waltz and “Alyss” speak to a very different group of people than both of the aforementioned artists.
For kids trying to find their place in the world, or young adults that simply like to question why things happen the way they do, “Alyss” is a must listen.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Scolla – Play It Cool (ft. Skewby)
Posted by admin on October 7, 2014

Feel-good rap is too hard to come by nowadays. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad at any stripclub anthems that have been put out in 2014, however, with the recent release of Kendrick Lamar’s “i”, it seems as if positive vibes and less-booty shaking might be returning to hip-hop.
Here to add to that movement is Scolla with his new Skewby assisted track, “Play It Cool”. The song displays Scolla’s infectious melodies as well as the raw rapping ability of both him and Memphis native, Skewby.
Follow Scolla on SoundCloud and dig a little deeper in to the music!

Ace Cosgrove hails from the DMV, and is no newcomer to Fresh New Tracks. His soulful twist on rap saw him relative success leading up to the release of this tape. And now that UsvsRobots is finally available to the world, it’s only a matter of time before things really propel to the next level.
The DMV has been incredibly strong recently, and everyone is awaiting the next artist to pop. Take a listen below and see why it might just be Ace Cosgrove.
Hip-Hop, Rap | .OZ x DreDream – Made Men (feat. Rick Ross) [Remix]
Posted by yabishcic on September 23, 2014
This is probably .OZ‘s biggest sound yet, and when I say big, I mean more along the lines of it BANGS. This remix is the perfect integration of original sound vs new sound. I feel like a lot of artists are trying to hit that medium recently and .OZ along with DreDream have accomplished it nicely. After the release of his first EP 4 months ago “Just Kick It”, .OZ plans to come back with singles stronger and headier than ever before.
