Here’s another track off Snoop Dogg’s upcoming Doggumentary. I know I rip on Snoop a lot, but he stuck to what he does best with this song, hip-hop. Some of you might recognize parts of this song because it leaked a while back only with Kanye’s verse, but here’s the final version.

This is a tragic loss for the music industry. I remember the good old days when Gmoney and I would blast Nate Dogg tracks as we cruised to school like gangsters. In fact it wouldn’t be a stretch to say he was an inspirational factor that led to the creation of FNT… I’ll let HipHopDX take it from here:
One of Hip Hop’s most iconic voices Nate Dogg passed away last night at the age of 41.
Hip Hop suffered another loss late last night, as Long Beach, California news site PressTelegram.com reports that Nathaniel “Nate Dogg” Hale has died at the age of 41.
Although no official cause of death has been announced, the former Death Row alum suffered from two strokes, his most recent one in September 2008.
A number of artists have confirmed Nate’s passing via Twitter, including long-time friend and frequent collaborator Snoop Dogg.

I don’t think there is anyone I currently despise more than Snoop Dogg. His whole transition to the pop/electro world was a smart move managing wise, but his style just doesn’t work with these tracks…forcing me to hate him more and more each song he puts out. Regardless, this track is a great merge between hip hop and electro and a party track that you’re guaranteed to love. Ekow is also Stevie Wonder’s son so for that sole fact alone, you need to give the man a shot.

Apparently when Lil Wayne claimed he was going to take on this new rock/rap sub-genre because he already mastered his original style, he inspired a number of other rappers to follow in suit. I’m not too crazy about this style and hope the big dogs don’t continue to stray too far from their comfort zones. What do you all think are we digging this sound?

Last night, Mac Miller dropped the above visuals for “Donald Trump,” the first single off his forthcoming mixtape, Best Day Ever. The video, directed and produced by Rex Arrow Films, is quite impressive (the lighting is ill). Filmed in a New York City loft, the video opens with images of the New York skyline (hell yea).
The buzz around this kid truly is insane. Watch out for #BESTDAYEVER, dropping in a mere seven days. Oh, and if you missed the download when Mach originally posted it, here it is again:

Snoop Dogg has released the second official single off his soon-to-drop album, Doggumentary. The track, feauting T-Pain, is entitled, “Boom.” Sampling Yaz’s 80’s hit, “Situation,” producer Scott Storch helps create an infectious track.

Above is the official album art for Wiz’s Rolling Papers which drops March 29th. Personally, as of late, I’m not a fan of Snoop Dogg as a rapper, but he managed to not ruin this song. Everything from the beat to the hook is super chill.

Although this isn’t as catch as Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s “California Gurl”, Kanye West does a venerable job of trying to live up to the previous hit by laying down some impressive bars. Hopefully Katy will continue to seek out big rappers to compliment her pop voice; its a great formula for success if you ask me.
