I keep trying to tell you people, but you don’t want to listen. I’ll put anyone up to Riff Raff’s wordplay right now. Anyone. Nobody is as creative as Riff Raff. Nobody keeps me on the edge of my seat like Riff Raff. You never know what he’s going to do next, and that’s exactly why people love him. Riff Raff is the perfect example Malcom Gladwell’s “10 000 Hour Theory” that posits if you practice something enough you eventually become an expert. Riff Raff has become one, because he’s cultivated the talent over of series of years. People used to not take him seriously, now he’s my favorite artist. RAP GAME GEORGE MICHAELS.

Next week, Riff Raff will be signing a 2.7 million dollar deal with Major Lazer’s Diplo. I can’t tell you how many people give me a hard time when I post Riff Raff. What started out as a joke, has become something serious, as Riff Raff has proven himself slowly but surely. You don’t have to like Riff Raff’s music, but you have to respect his hustle. I get it. Diplo gets it. America will get it soon enough.

Rap game’s Ace Ventura is back at it again, and this time he’s recruited Lil’ Debbie, formerly of Kreayshawn’s “White Girl Mob” to create a track dedicated to a certain unmentionable. Just a few weeks ago, Riff Raff announced that he would be doing an album with Diplo. While details are foggy, the project is said to be composed of 20 tracks and features Diplo rapping as well. Whether or not the project materializes, Riff Raff is easily the most compelling personality in hip-hop to date with his irreverent approach to hip-hop’s grand cathedral. Chief Keef is a Chicago boy that is making quite a buzz around the music industry, which even my boy Derrick Rose approves of. This isn’t you’re run of the mill college frat rap music, this is the complete polar opposite. This is straight up trap musik with real trap beats and bountiful gun shots. Just the way I like it. Word is that Sosa, Mr. Keef’s alter ego, just signed with Soulja Boy and his SODMG label, which makes sense with Soulja’s verse on the 3Hunna remix, so we might have a Riff Raff x Chief Keef collab which is almost up to BasedGod proportions. The story behind Chief Keef’s mixtape is actually a quite funny one, so I’ll let FakeShoreDrive elaborate:

Hip-hop purists will automatically pass on this post because it features outlandish former reality TV star turned SODMG rapper Riff Raff featured with the heavily respected Action Bronson. Although I have no clue how this collaboration happened, Riff Raff delivers one of his greatest verses ever over Harry Fraud’s looming introspective beat. He raps, “Astons martins sparking one and valet parking/lone sharking hopin’ that my days don’t be darkened, Jeter’s skin.” Those who hate on Ronald are those who fail to understand that rap is now theatre, and Riff Raff is simply playing a character. It’s no secret. I have a blog crush on Iggy Azalea. She’s like the female version of Paul Wall minus the poor choice in tattoos. “I Think She Ready” which features Iggy Azalea, serves as the lead single off Mad Decent’s upcoming FKi mixtape. If you haven’t noticed, the down south ignorant rap style (which has slowly fallen out of popular culture) has seen a resurgence thanks to artists like A$AP Rocky and Iggy Azalea. Just a few weeks ago, Diplo linked up with Riff Raff to create “Rice Out.” Whether Diplo was serious or trying to be ironic, it’s interesting to see the rap paradigm shift, combining two opposite worlds into one. Production on the track goes to Derek Allen Diplo and Heroes and Villains. Be on the lookout for the mixtape dropping January 23rd.
