House, Progressive House | Pierce Fulton – Sink Or Swim / Mr Mime EP

Posted by on October 1, 2012

Before Pierce Fulton fully descends into the debauchery of his current “Love & War” tour with Wolfgang Gartner & Popeska, taking a tour bus all across America from Boise to Burlington, from Seattle to Silver Springs, he has released his first originals since 10/6 & West Egg and before that “Who Wants Spaghetti?“. The more melodic “Sink Or Swim” take full advantage of Bebe Rexha’s superb vocals, adding full bodied synths and a pitched top line. This track lends to the more melodic side of Pierce’s sound that we have seen in “Lay Right Here” and his “Don’t Be Afraid” remix. “Mr Mime” completes the EP with its chugging baseline, crunchy keys, and fast moving, reverbed top line. “Mr. Mime” may be the more decorated of the two, already getting support from Above & Beyond on Trance Around The World twice, though that does not diminish the quality at all of “Sink Of Swim” in this well-rounded EP.

House | Pierce Fulton – Sink Or Swim / Mr. Mime EP (Preview)

Cr2 Records has finally unveiled the official clips for Pierce Fulton’s latest original work in the form of a two track EP with the previously previewed “Mr Mime” and the new “Sink Or Swim”. The Above & Beyond supported “Mr. Mime” and its chugging progressive beats was the first to be previewed thus has garnered the most buzz and has been a focal point of Pierce Fulton’s sets. “Sink Or Swim” may become the star of the EP with its more accessible progressive melodies (not to say Mr. Mime isn’t likable by all). Pierce Fulton has been a fast rising name on the scene and this EP may just be the next step he needs to go from a supporting name on tours, to becoming the consistent headliner himself.

Electro-House, Events | Wolfgang Gartner – Love & War EP

Posted by on September 17, 2012

After a disappointingly middling midsummer release, Wolfgang Gartner returns to form with a hard-hitting two track EP. Both of these tracks feature the dark, gritty edge and complex chord work we’re accustomed to seeing from the LA-based producer, which means that they’re unpredictable and guaranteed to get you moving. The title track is classic Wolfgang, with heavy, industrial synths and a grinding, relentless hook, though “Nuke” is my personal favorite of the two — it’s like “Space Junk” meets moombah meets “Flexx,” and that crunchy interlude of a riff (which you’ll immediately recognize if you’ve seen Wolfgang live recently) is to die for. Preview the tracks below and then head to Beatport for the download — you don’t want to sleep on these. After the jump check the dates for his upcoming US tour with Pierce Fulton & Popeska, coming off his Karmameter EP on Wolfgang’s own Kindergarten Records, providing support.

House, Videos | Pierce Fulton – Chapter 5: Denver, Dogs, & Disco

Posted by on September 13, 2012

Pierce Fulton gives us the 5th chapter of his video series that unveils the curtain on what goes on when the lights aren’t on and when he is not enthralling a crowd with his unique style of beats. This episode takes us to his recent adventures in Colorado, where he did a show out at Beta Club in Denver with DallasK, another likeminded, talented young American producer. The video gives us an expended preview of his remix of The Killer’s “Runaway”, and shows off the killer dance moves of his manager, brother and “Pierce Fulton Superfan” Griff at 3:46.

Preview, Progressive House | The Killers – Runaways (Pierce Fulton Remix) [Preview]

Posted by on September 10, 2012

Piece Fulton follows his official remix for Usher’s single “Scream” and his outstanding performance to start Electric Zoo with an official remix of the lead single “Runaways” off of The Killer’s upcoming album “Battle Born”. This remix lends itself to the more melodic side of Pierce’s sound, creating a well oiled melody to match the vocals from “The Killers”. This is not going to be one of Pierce Fulton’s hard hitting club offerings, but rather more of a soothing addition to his discography. If you are an AMEX member, you can get this now for free at the link below.

DJ-Set, Dubstep, Events, House | Electric Zoo Sets: Day 3

Posted by on September 5, 2012

The final day of Electric Zoo was a doozy. I still feel like I was hit by a plane and day 3 probably had a lot to do with it. Though I unfortunately missed it, Flux & Doctor P apparently put on one hell of a show in the Hilltop tent. The rest of the day was a bouncy, awesome day full of variety and great sets in all the tents. Get to them below and be sure to listen to each of the other days, DAY 1 and DAY 2 if you haven’t already.

DJ-Set, House | Usher – Scream (Pierce Fulton Remix) + Get Weird Ep #004

Posted by on August 29, 2012

Despite its inevitable leak a little while ago, Pierce Fulton’s remix of Usher’s Scream now sees the official light of day. It takes a more progressive side of Pierce’s sound that we saw in his earlier works, like on his “Pardon My French EP”, using Usher’s vocals splendidly, letting them shine over soft pads and then in the chorus bringing up the tempo with a playful arp, and melodic chords with vocals bits creating a superb harmony. Also included in the remix package are remixes from R3hab who gives us his saws that we have seen time and time again and Project 46 who puts out a superb progressive remix that rivals Pierce’s remix.

Also below is the 4th episode of Get Weird, Pierce Fulton’s radio show on Tiesto’s radio channel that is now hosting a contest where you can have your own show on there, details here. The set includes what we have grown accustomed to hearing in Get Weird with a unique tracklist of lesser known tracks from tech to progressive to house tracks. It is a great way to get you ready for Electric Zoo this weekend with Pierce’s set at the rough slot of noon on Sunday and includes some unreleased tracks as well. Tracklist after the jump.
