A few weeks ago, we brought you Elephante’s newest single, “Catching On”. While being a change from the regular Phante sound, it still caught everyone’s attention and quickly became a must-add to every summer playlist. Today, Elephante and his team revealed the lyric video for the single. Created by Ajax Visuals, the video really breathes new life into the song and really allows the viewer to take in the full meaning of the track. Elephante just released a VIP mix for “Closer”, or as he calls it: Zoo Mix. This version is much more upbeat & harder than the original, making it another dance floor banger by Phante! Accompanied by a lyric video, the producer states, “I knew there were a ton of different versions of [the track] that existed in some alternate universe, and I knew I wanted to see what would happen if I started from scratch and went totally ham on it.” And man, did he go HAM. “BlackOut” has been sweeping the nation, the debut single from DJ Felli Fel’s deejay upstart The Americanos. The trap anthem features Lil Jon, Juicy J and Tyga, released back in May, and now receives an official lyric video. This was to celebrate the debut of We Are Your Friends, where “BlackOut” landed a slot as one of the singles off of the soundtrack. “BlackOut” will definitely give you a good laugh post-Labor Day blues, with animated caricatures of Lil Jon, Juicy J and Tyga and footage not seen in the movie!

I’ve said this before, but King Deco is an incredibly special talent. Too rarely do I come across a pop songstress who has all the vocal power and polish of a radio heavyweight, yet with a thoughtful aesthetic and resonant lyrics. Building off the success of her last EP, Tigris, Deco released a lyric video for “Ocean”, my favorite song from the project. It’s a heartfelt and thoughtful song that addresses her choice to leave her family in Jordan, where she was raised: “Am I really wrong now?/My family condemns me/But it’s empty in that city of sand.” As a writer, aided by the assistance of NYC writing/production team Kinetics & One Love, she has that essential skill of turning her personal stories into something accessible for others, and extremely poignant. The song was produced by Cobra Starship guitarist Ryland Blackinton and One Love, and is equally mesmeric and cinematically produced as anything we’ve seen come from her camp thus far.
