It’s been nearly a year since Hoodie Allen carved his niche in the wildly diverse music industry with the release of his chart topping EP, All American.  Since, Hoodie has been working tirelessly on his next album, Crew Cuts, which will be a free, full length release on February 20th.  Hoodie has said this will be his “most diverse and interesting project to date” and his first single, “Cake Boy,” proves just that.  The self dubbed, “braggadocios, lyrical tongue twister produced by legendary hip hop producer !llmind” will invite you to live out the fantasy life of a cupcake delivery boy…surrounded by a crew of HB10’s.  Hoodie tells me, if you like sexy girls and you like the Food Network; this is your music video. Hoodie Mob, will you be feastin’ on this freebie?

Hip-Hop, Pop | Jared Evan – Charlie Brown (Remix) ft. Emilio Rojas, Wax, & Tayyib Ali

Posted by on October 24, 2012

After receiving incredible feedback on his standout single from his recept EP, The 4th Chapter, Jared Evan enlists quite the lineup for the official “Charlie Brown” remix.  Crafted by Jared and the infamous !llmind, this childhood reflection tale will have you snapping back to elementary school reminiscing over the tribulations that had Jared feeling like that lovable loser, Charlie Brown.  I’d say there are no longer any black clouds for Rojas, Wax, and Tayyib who all bring the heat on their verses, reflecting on how they went from the laughing stock to the star of the show.

Hip-Hop | Seer – hOney knives (prod. by !llmind)

Posted by on January 26, 2012

Seer (of Smokey Robotic) is due to release a new solo project, the first since Smokey Robotic came together. The album entitled wOO, the overdose tape will be composed of a collection of songs that he has written over the past four years and contains production from !llmind, Konrad OldMoney, and Uncle Fig as well as features from Father Dude and Mr. A. The track below “hOney knives” is the first single off the project and provides a good intro as to what to expect from the project. “hOney knives” is an emotional one, so it is best that the artist himself describe for you, which you can read below.

“‘hOney knives’ is a love song from my soul to my brain. my whole life i have felt blessed and cursed by dreams and have spent the duration of my conscious existence allowing my imagination to dominate my reality. ‘hOney knives’ is my soul begging my brain to release it from it’s delicious grasp and to use it’s razor sharp abilities to conjure up a metaphorical knife that will slice my soul free once and for all. the song was produced by my brother !llmind and is the most personal record on the album.” – Seer

Hip-Hop, Pop | Jared Evan – Traffic Light (Prod. By !llmind)

Posted by on December 31, 2011

Jared Evan has always been interesting artist to me. He has never fit in any one genre and that is probably why I like him so much. His music ranges from Hip Hop, Pop, and Rock and yet always has a consistent feel to it. His latest single “Traffic Light” is no exception. The track will be featured on his upcoming EP that will be produced entirely by !LLMIND and Ill Factor dropping the 1st quarter of 2012.
