Hip-Hop | Brenton Duvall and Split Second | Hip-Hop/Pop

Posted by on February 17, 2011

Not much to say here folks, just doing a little bit of catch up with some FNT fan favorites. Brenton Duvall chopped it up with me this past weekend so I had to give him the headliner on this post. Check out the dope video done by Chris Taylor, it provides some insight about the song while also illustrating young Brents talents.

Hip-Hop | CHILL RAP | Young Prince’s Mixtape “Prep Matters”

Posted by on December 29, 2010

A couple weeks ago my bud J-POW hit me with this mixtape but unfortunately I didn’t have much time on my hands to divulge in random submissions. I immediately regretted this decision because “chill” rap tracks featuring some unreal samples (see “Little Lies”) is just what I needed to make it through my day. I’m sure you’ll recognize some of the sounds in Prepmatter, making it easy to immediately vibe with, but it’ll also catch you off guard enough to keep you curious. Expect to see Young Prince on FNT again, especially if these Brenton Duvall collaboration rumors materialize… Check out YP’s Facebook page for more information.

Electro, Hip-Hop | Potomac Boys Club – Lights! (Potomac Boys Club Remix)

Posted by on December 6, 2010

Rather than remixing a track by flowing over a top 40 beat (like Black and Yellow, for example), Brenton Duvall does the opposite by creating a beat and using big time vocals to fill in the gaps. Here’s his latest track which totally flips an Ellie Goulding sample. What are your thoughts, is this better than Mean Planes and Taylor Gangs? We just published Brenton’s affiliated artist page so if you’re digging this track, check out more here.

Electro, Hip-Hop | New Affiliated Artist: Brenton Duvall

Posted by on November 8, 2010

I’d like to introduce our latest addition to the FNT affiliated artist team, Brenton Duvall. This 19 year old producer and remix artist from Washington, D.C., currently in his sophomore year at the University of Colorado. In less than a year, he has managed to discover an audience with a string of critically acclaimed remixes featuring all original production. By using a unique blend of pop, hip-hop, and electro sounds accompanied by catchy samples, Brenton has been able to create a distinct sound in this college game. Keep an eye on this young-gun in the months to come. Below is a new track which might just be Brents best project.

Brenton Duvall – Mean Planes & Taylor Gangs (Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Swift) (5 Stars)

Previously: Brenton Duvall – Hell Yeah! (Ludacris and Raekwon)

Previously: Brenton Duvall – Against a Mad World
