AGLORY is world-renowned for their dark beats and unique brand. They’ve worked with the similarly blackened imprint Kannibalen Records before, but now the French duo have partnered with them on a solo EP. MORT is the project, packed with four singles that echo underground sounds that techno enthusiasts love to boast about. Only, AGLORY puts their own spin on everything they do, which is what sets this EP apart from a lot of the comparable records coming out. Each track is its own journey, taking the listener on a dreary ride through industrial basslines and savage soundscapes. If you’re a fan of techno, things don’t get much better than this EP. AGLORY and Kannibalen make the perfect match on this project, and we hope to see them together again soon.

South Africa meets France with “Ocelot” from Kannibalen Records. The creative minds behind the single are HAEZER and AGLORY, both of whom are pillars in the techno community. Their single “Ocelot” shares each act’s love for dark, ominous records. Here they go in with an industrial-influenced single that focuses on simplicity. They focus on the essentials, and don’t try to do too much and the result is spectacular. Not only do we get their cool original, but Zeksullz was enlisted for a remix. With his take, Zeksullz turns things up with a jungle terror remix that flips “Ocelot” on its head. Both singles are incredible, despite their differing styles. Don’t sleep on either of them.

Justin Caruso’s new remix of “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” will take you on a trip down memory lane. This remix is a fresh take on a classic song that will have you in love with the song all over again. The song is evidently unique through it’s use of the vocoder which hasn’t been used successfully since Daft Punk’s last album. Give it a listen and if you like what you hear be sure to check out his other stuff.

Los Angeles-based producer, Justin Jay, releases his edit of Barnt’s “Chappell” as a gift to us to close out the year. For this release, Justin brings on Henry Was for drumming duties to add to Benny Bridges on guitar. The crew puts their own touch on “Chappell,” with live instruments, driving percussive additions, and subtle production tweaks, and the result exceeds expectations with its overall livening of the techno track. Justin Jay has been changing the game with his innovative stylistic choices, and he’s expected to continue in 2016.

“With Benny Bridges on guitar, I saw this techno anthem by Barnt as a way to start messing around with Henry’s crazy drum sounds. We had so much fun making it and even more fun playing it live. With it being the holiday season, we wanted to give it to you guys (especially DJ’s who need an extra jam for those holiday sets).” – Justin Jay

Techno | HI-LO, aka Oliver Heldens, Gets Ravey On New Track, “Ooh La La”

Oliver Heldens has been recognized not only for his deep house work under his self-named moniker, but also as his bass alias, HI-LO. His latest track, “Ooh La La” adds techno to his resume with underground bass vibes. A fast percussion beat and driving risers set the stage for HI-LO’s latest track that evolves into a heavy walking bass line and pounding synth melody. Doppler hi-hats ring as the vocal line repeats an “Ooh La La” vocal sample. Although wandering from his expected sound, “”Ooh La La” adds a new vibe to HI-LO’s quickly expanding library.

Techno | Destructo Takes It Back To The Old School Days of Electronic Music With “Techno”

Long before the days of Swedish House Mafia, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, and the main stage explosion, dance music presided over the underground, lurking the shadows of illegal warehouse raves and secret parties. In those days, electro, big room, and progressive house were afterthoughts – acid house reigned supreme. There are few artists that have been around long enough to truly understand the growth that dance music has gone through, but Destructo is one of them, and he’s throwing it back to the early days with his latest output, “Techno.” Sampling Eminem in his hit song, “Without Me,” Destructo builds the entire track around the verse, “nobody listens to techno,” infusing the track with some thick Roland-303s and buzzing synths.

Electro-House, House, Techno | Haezer Brings The Bass With Electro Crossover “Machine”

The South African producer Haezer is known for his vicious beats that walk the line between electro and techno. His latest track through Kannibalen Records, “Machine,” is no exception, although this time he brings a little extra bass to the mix. Haezer packs a whole lot of attitude in this underground record that I could easily see being played at some Euro-trash warehouse rave. It’s a little different from what we usually hear from Kannibalen, but that’s probably why Haezer is their most recent signee. Look for him to make some more noise through the end of the year, with next year shaping up to be a big one for him.
