Heily Beatz Teams Up With Randy Traps On Bumping Single ‘Traps’

Posted by on October 28, 2022

When it comes to the Chicago underground music scene, Heily Beatz is a name that everyone knows. Debuting his project seven years ago, this production wizard has cultivated a one-of-a-kind style that intertwines components of EDM and hip hop. Influenced by some of the biggest artists in the industry, such as Chris Lake, FKJ, and Lil Durk, Heily utilizes experimental bass to captivate his listeners.

With a long history of making infectious music, Heily is signed to the respected label Pharaoh Phoenix records. Also a talented DJ, he once played a set in front of 100 thousand people for the Women’s March of Chicago. This is accompanied by memorable performances at Metro, House Of Blues, Subterranean, and other popular party venues. Proving his dedication to sound design, Heily is the main producer and engineer at the prominent 4835 Studios.

Heily has worked with a ton of skilled artists over the years, like Elevatd, Dead Weight, and even going on tour with R&B superstar Morgan Gold. His newest collab is with production guru Randy Traps on their joint single “Traps”. Discussing his outlook on the track’s soundscapes, Heily states, “the collision of tear out and calm melodies are symbolism for the rollercoaster of a complex relationship.”

If one thing is for certain, it is that “Traps” is definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotion. Beginning with lush female vocals and a soothing beat, anticipation builds as the sound design becomes louder and more aggressive. Suddenly, a wave of ground-shaking dubstep splashes over the song’s audience, likely resulting in a choir of headbanging. This bass-fueled anthem is perfect for underground warehouse raves and highlights Heily’s versatility as an artist.
