Bass, Trap | LUUDE Drops VIP Edit of Booming Trap Banger, “Sooo”

Posted by on December 9, 2016

Off rip LUUDE’s new song “Sooo (VIP)” caught me off guard, but in the best way possible with it’s incredibly menacing soundscape. As it continues to evolve, it grew on me more thanks to the well placed vocal samples that are used as percussive instrumentation and once that sub kicks it this song goes to the next level in my book. While the production is very unorthodox, to me, their is still a feel-good pop flair to it at times and that’s what really resonated with me. LUUDE is a creative, forward-thinking producer who deserves more recognition and I’m calling it now in 2017 he’ll pop off because of quality music like “Sooo (VIP).” So check it out now above!

Alternative, Chill, Hip-Hop | Jute$ Tells You All About His Cocaine Cinderella

Pretty upset how long this one has been sitting in my inbox, I have been slacking lately. Making his FNT debut with Cocaine Cinderella is Jute$. The Toronto based Jute$ has an extremely unique sound that really connected with me. Despite being mostly a hip hop/ pop/ alternative listener in 2016, back in the day I grew up on a lot of alternative rock/emo/scream music. Jute$ brought back all the feels with Cocaine Cinderella as it reminded me of an eclectic blend of Blackbear, Mod Sun and some of my favorite alternative bands from way way wayyyyy back.

The French have the funk and this is an exceptional testament. Loge21, a young duo specializing in this futuristic direction of house music bring us ‘Midnight,’ a sexy saxophone-filled track with luscious vocals that smooth into a dirty bassline. It’s got an ideal balance between a cool melody and a fat dance beat, but in the end it’s the perfect closer to the perfect night. Come with me and cleanse yourself of your sins as we indulge in the purifying synths of ‘Midnight.’

Progressive House | Zedd – Find You (Martell Bootleg)

Zedd - Find You (Martell Bootleg)

At the moment, I am sitting at my desk with the adjacent window open like not even a lot. The breeze is pretty cold though, but if I close it my room will probably get too warm to comfortably apply too much cologne when I go out. I guess what I’m getting at is, because of the cold air currently infiltrating me, there has been some shrinkage. Shrinkage pertaining to the number of remixes to Zedd’s “Find You” I can post. I already posted Moiez’s and because nobody wants to listen to the same song remixed a million times, I was not planning on posting anymore. When I woke up this morning, I was not expecting all three black guys at my work to initiate a fist bump with me but they did, or to be posting another remix to this song.

The obviously Swedish producer, Martell, is the guy who convinced me to do so. This is his first release since his remix of Klingande’s “Jubel” and like that track, this one too is carried by an excellent melody. The melodic components of this song are just so good and while, yes, I would have preferred different vocals, this is still a play worthy track.

Electronic | Midnight Pool Party – Linger

Posted by on April 16, 2014

Well folks, it’s the middle of April which means it took me an entire four months to find a new artist to start obsessing over (2014, get your shit together!). But it seems my hunting has come to a end, well temporarily, of course, as I would like to introduce you all to Midnight Pool Party. This band comes from where else other than the down under: Sydney, to be exact. Their style is summarized by a contagious, feel good, retro disco sound, or better put in their own words, a “potent cocktail of funky guitar licks, infectious keys and swoonsome choruses.” Their latest single, “Linger” and all its remixes (especially Luke Million’s) is a great starting place to fall in love with these party people, and once you’re ready for more, you can catch up with me over on their Miami Horror “Real Slow” remix as I’ve had it on repeat for about a week now. They’ve got their tracks available for free download so you can cop them, play them for your friends, and all dance until you drop.

Martin Fjaestad, a 19 year old Swedish producer has just released his bootleg of the much beloved “Jubel” by Klingande. He has kept the signature saxophone as well as a large portion of the original but has made it even more melodic with a huge progressive melody that takes over the build and the drop. Overall, the original is probably better but this holds up pretty well against it.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Mike Stud – Mike Jordan [#SundayStudDay]

Posted by on February 18, 2014

I swear that Sunday Stud Days get better and better every Sunday. This past Sunday, Mike Stud dropped a new song and video titled “Mike Jordan,” but it’s much more than a song. The first minute is an inspirational monologue Stud gives that tells us how he got to where he is. The line that stuck with me most is: “never let anyone or anything kill your dream, because the moment you believe something is impossible, it is.” After the speech, the song and the visuals pick up, with a smooth instrumental from Louis Bell and dope visuals from Jon Kilmer as usual. The song itself is pretty melodic and involves more singing and pitch than just straight rapping – similar to the style of Chance the Rapper. Amazing project all around, so watch the video and download the single here.
