Freestyle, Hip-Hop | XV – Stone Cold (Recipe Freestyle)

Posted by on May 30, 2012

Vizzy drops off this little freestyle to show his pride in his city. Coming from the state of Kansas as a rapper must be hard, so it’s nice to see Vizzy showing love to his roots. I love when artists take pride in their city, Macklemore, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, and many others have released songs dedicated to their cities. This is supposedly a freestyle, but in todays game, I feel like the word “freestyle” is thrown around pretty loosely. Sound off in the comments or get at me in the chat box(@J_Salzer) with your thoughts on the topic of freestyling and it’s place in music. No download yet, but be on the lookout for this posting being updates soon with the DL link. Downloads were enables as I was writing this post. That’s a good look.

Hip-Hop | XV ft. Freddie High – Now Let’s Go In(Prod. Awesome Sound)

Posted by on April 2, 2012

There’s nothing to bring me out of my Monday blues like some hot new Vizzy. A bit of an electric type beat from one of Donovan Johnson’s go to producers, The Awesome Sound. Nobody can jump on a beat and do what XV does to it, he has a unique way of changing anything he gets on. I’m not a HUGE fan of Freddie High’s verse, because it’s so tough to follow someone who kills everything like XV, but Vizzy’s verse makes this track a huge hit in my book.

Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | XV, DMX ft. MGK, Kid Ink

XV gives us a visual treatment for his take on Drake’s “The Motto”.  Keeping it real for his Squarians while on his “Midwest State of Mind” tour, Vizzy delivers 7 traits of L7 (make an “L” and a “7” with your hands, flip them and put them together, you’ve got a square– you’re a Squarian).

DMX goes bonkers on this beat, emphasizing the fact he stays gangsta in the club, swaying to the beat.  Recruiting Bad Boy’s hard spitting white boy, MGK, who I think was star struck by the fact his all time favorite Ruff Rider had put him on a track.  This track will likely be on DMX’s upcoming project, Undisputed.

Kid Ink keeps pumping out the new free music as his recent track, “Time Of My Life”, off his debut album Up & Away keeps crawling up the iTunes charts.  Doing what he does best, The Alumni takes Kirko Bangz track “Drank In My Cup” and flips it to be more environmentally sustainable, if you know what I mean.

Hip-Hop | XV – End Of The World

Posted by on January 3, 2012

IT IS 2012! That means we have 11 months and 21 days to be extra mischievous. I’ve already broken my new years resolutions so I’m not really into being holier than thou the year of 2012. XV killed it in 2011, so I want to see how he goes in 2012. He’s hating on social media in this song, which I get. Maybe 2012 I’ll delete facebook off my iPhone…maybe…ugh..wait…no.

Hip-Hop, Videos | XV – Awesome (Music Video)

Posted by on November 12, 2011

Vizzy just dropped some hilarious visuals for what I believe was his best track off his Zero Heros mixtape. After hitting us with a deep, nostalgic video for When We’re Gone, XV brings out the jokes and good vibes for this one, running around with a bunch of dudes dress up like the kids from South Park. Head over iTunes to get the original version of Awesome, or you can download the remix featuring Pusha-T below.

Hip-Hop, Videos | XV – When We’re Done (Video)

It looks like Vizzy has taken some time off from playing GOW 3 to make some visuals for his track When We’re Done, which was off his Zero Hero‘s mixtape.
