You can always count on Viper Recordings to come through with a massive release. After just releasing Koven’s outstanding EP they come through with yet another fresh signing and EP from Au5. Au5 was the winner of the Seven Lion’s remix competition so you know he has some talent in the the trancy/dubstep department, if Seven Lion’s thought so. His title track that was featured on UKF’s channel is next level on the trance-dubstep fusion and of course the amazing Shaz Sparks is providing the vocals. The drop on this track has some craziness going on compared to what we normally hear on this style of track, which helps it stand out compared to the others. His next track The Reason II is along the same lines as far as style, but with a little heavier added touch to it. This is a stellar release overall, and also a great way to kick off the week.

Dubstep | True Tiger – Big Love (Haze Remix)

Posted by on October 28, 2012

I have literally been checking the internet for a leak of this track everyday since its preview on UKF. Of course UKF had the idiots who compare every song to Skrillex because they have no actual idea of what Dubstep is. Haze, which is actually another allias of Dubstep filth monger, Funtcase, releases songs that are smooth unlike the Funtcase tracks that are crunchy and heavy. True Tiger produced an incredible original track featuring female vocalist Maiday. The vocals are really what set this original off, but Haze came in and dropped smooth enough bass to make a baby stop crying. It’s melodic strength with the vocals has made this a must have for all time. Grab it off of Beatport HERE.

Electro-House | Gemini – Freedom

Posted by on October 1, 2012

Well, my Monday just got a whole lot better. It’s been a while since British producer and FNT fave (and perpetual scowler) Gemini has thrown us a bone, so I was pleased when UKF announced the release of “Freedom” in advance of his forthcoming EP. Even better? It’s a free download. Though Gemini is perhaps best known for producing dubstep that manages to be simultaneously melodic and heavy, he also delivers pounding electro house — as evidenced by the title track off his EP Fire Inside. “Freedom” navigates the listener through big, dramatic chords before careening into a surprisingly stripped down drop that has an almost Dutch house vibe. It’s a new direction for the young producer and definitely highlights his versatility.

Moombahton | Moombah Mondays

Posted by on July 24, 2012

Nothing too crazy this week as far as Moombahton goes, so we will keep this edition of Moombah Mondays nice and short. UKF and xKore decided they were going to give away a track off of his upcoming EP on Inspected and out of all the tracks it was his Moombahcore one entitled Everybody Rock. I know xKore has been producing some Moombahton tunes in the past few months, but I wasn’t expecting this to be on his EP. Some nice vocals on the track along with some nice trancey synths that build and lead straight into a pretty heavy Moombahton/xKore-synth infused drop. You can download the track through the UKF youtube page.

I was caught off guard again, but this time with this remix by Nadastrom. I didn’t see this Zeds Dead track every being remixed into a Trap-Bass styled remix and especially not by Nadastrom. Either way I don’t think it turned out too bad, but definitely unique and original. Waiting for a release date on this one.

I knew I could count on Dface to come through with a Moombahton track for this weeks Moombah Mondays, and he did. It seems as though the surge of Moombahton tracks has finally died out and everyone is slowly moving their way towards Moombahcore and Trap, which is sad to see. The first few months when Moombah Mondays began I had so many amazing tracks to choose from and was always left in an abundance, but now it seems as though nobody wants to make any more Moombahton. Dface did his thing on this track and I’m feeling it. I love that he sticks to his own and doesn’t give into whatever is popular at the time. That increased my level of respect for him as an artist.

Dubstep | KOAN Sound-Funk Blaster (Culprate remix) & Loadstar-Passenger (Culprate Remix)[Prev]

Posted by on June 28, 2012

Culprate is destroying the scene right now with his unique style of glich and dubstep blended together. First we have a preview of one of his upcoming releases that went up on UKF yesterday. Absolutely smashing remix to Loadstar’s DnB tune Passenger that was also uploaded to the UKFDrum&Bass channel a few weeks ago. I think the original DnB tune maybe a little heavier, but I’m torn between which one I like more. Either way Culprate is tearing his remixes apart, which leads us to his next massive freebie that was given away today. His remix to KOAN Sound’s Funk Blaster, which has been a highlight to many artist sets. You should know what to expect by now; it’s that glich-step style from Cuplrate with some funk provided by KOAN. Also as a heads, be on the lookout for Culprate’s remix of Skrillex’s Make It Bun Dem which has been recorded at a few live shows and should be surfacing soon.

Dubstep | R Rated #27

After seeing Emalkay live during Nocturnal Wonderland here in Texas, I can honestly say this tune absolutely smashes crowds and stages. I need a release date for this tune ASAP, because I can only listen to these rips for so long. Emalkay took my MVP out of all the performers during Friday of the festival, and this tune was probably the determining factor. Really hoping we get some more tunes from this guy soon. I’m happy to say we FINALLY have a new track from Killsonik that was released out of no where yesterday. After only releasing one remix for Nero last year these guys were never heard from again until recently. Having their new single put up on UKF dubstep as well promoting the release of their EP, “Blood Lust” , on May 28th. I will give it to them though, this is a killer remix.

Mach has been eagerly awaiting the release of this next remix by Stepsonics. I had never heard of him before this, but what a way to be introduced. The track has a nice buildup which slowly levels off to where everything goes silent. Next thing you know you get slapped in the face by the drop. Take this as your warning.

We are slowly seeing more and more material emerging from the Never Say Die camp. After their two track remix EP released last week as well as Skism’s remix a few weeks before that; now everyone awaits the release of this drumstep remix of Hadouken’s Parasite. Who wouldn’t want a remix from Skism AND Zomboy. From what I have heard Zomboy has a EP in the making, so looking forward to hearing some of his new bits in the upcoming months.

How many artist do you know that can take Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up aka Rick Roll’d theme song and create a sick glich hop remix over the vocals? I can only think of one and that is the 17 year old producer, Teknian. I’m not going to lie I would like it to just be an instrumental, but either way the beat is dope.

Next up is an artist I have been following and keeping in contact with for a while now, but nobody knows of the talent this guy really has. I think the original to this track was top notch, until I heard this remix by Andrew D. This guy really has no boundaries, dropping tracks through all genres that just keep blowing me away. Whenever I asked him to let me know when he finished this track, he told me if he ever does….. You can imagine the face I made; something along these lines 0_0. Check out this tune and let him know your thoughts in the comments and encourage him to finish this amazing remix!
