Progressive House | Kaskade & Swanky Tunes feat. Lights – No One Knows Who We Are (Tim Mason Remix)

The original was something I was not too fond of and seemed to be begging for a remix, especially with the vocals from Lights shining like a bright light on a pitch black night. Tim Mason comes to the rescue with another vintage remix from the Brighton man, who is on the heals of his outstanding original on Size Records released last month “Swoon“. The Size Records man gives this huge collab the melodic spin the track desperately needed with an upbeat, progressive melody and fast moving synths. Kaskade has been playing out the original lately, but hopefully he will switch it up and incorporate this remix into his sets more.

Its second release of the year, Steve Angello’s Size Records has outdone itself once more with this etheral release from Brighton native, Tim Mason. The UK producer who has already released hits like “The Moment” and “Anima” provides us with yet another top flight single. It has been quite a while since we heard something from Tim Mason, but as usual from the Size camp where quality tops quantity, the wait is going to be worth it because the product will not sound like some drivel churned out in a few hours. Tim Mason puts together a well layered melody with sublime synth chords, a simple yet effective arp and a slow, rolling bass line in his inaugural release of the year and one of his strongest to date.

Electro-House | Arno Cost – Head Up

Posted by on January 21, 2013

HeadUp1

Following the release of “Lifetime” late last year, and now “Head Up”, Frenchman Arno Cost with these two productions has certainly embraced a heavier, tougher sound from the time he first started the Freshmakers with Normon Doray in 2006 and since then has been known for true to the term progressive house. “Head Up” marks Arno Cost’s premier on Steve Angello’s Size Records driven by a minimalist drop with a grinding low end meant for the festival stage. “Head Up” kicks off what is sure to be an outstanding year for Size Records with releases coming up like “Hit It”, Sebjak & Marcus Schossow “LICEU”, IDs from Promise Land, Steve Angello & Matisse & Sadko, Steve Angello & Wayne & Woods, Tim Mason & more.

DJ-Set, Electro-House | Tristan Garner – Punx + Set @ Xtra Life #3 Queen Paris

Posted by on March 2, 2012

French Dj/ Producer, Tristan Garner has released his single “Punx” as an ode the french legends “Daft Punk”. Being a member of the Daft Punk generation of French Djs with Gregori Klosman, Arno Cost, Norman Doray and others, who all grew up listening to the signiature sounds of their countrymen Daft Punk, it only makes sense for him to put out this track as a tribute to these great producers. The track is incredible in its own right, playing heavily on the Daft Punk sound and it does work live. Get it on Beatport.

Also check out his set from his Xtra Life show at Queen club in Paris last Friday, where he had total control of the crowd and put together some amazing bootlegs, even though he tore open a huge gash on his index finger in the first few minutes of the set. It was a crazy night with Tim Mason demolishing his opening set then disappearing in the back room with some blonde and the Tristan coming on to finish it off. If you like Tristan Garner’s bootlegs, go and check out his 2012 winter bootleg pack HERE. Tracklist after the jump.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Progressive House | Stars Come Out Remixes

Posted by on February 13, 2012

OWSLA native Zedd unleashed his Remix EP for his single Stars Come Out featuring many big names. Starting off with John Dahlback’s Progressive House remix. Not John’s best work and also a very short track, but nonetheless this remix is something different. Lazy Rich bringing their Electro skills to this track, by starting off with a nice intro that slowly builds into Heather Bright’s vocals. Next thing you know your jamming to a nasty and grimey electro synth with heavy leads that create the perfect combination for an electro-house track. Theres no stopping Datsik lately, and we continue to see him showcasing some of his new sounds and styles in this remix. If you haven’t listened to his UMF mix, you are missing out on a lot of his unreleased goodies. This remix is crazy with the synths and is hands down my favorite remix on this EP. Terravita also provide a nice dubstep remix, which is a little heavier on the bass and more ruffneck on the synths if that’s what you prefer. Last we have Tim Mason, who provides an uplifting progressive house remix with a suberb melodic bassine and prominent synth work. Be sure to grab this EP on Beatport HERE.
