Uk producer Jacob Plant brings his brand of heavy electro & dubstep to Calvin Harris led Fly Eye Records. Departing from the last release on Fly Eye from Thomas Gold “Miao“, “Shakedown” serves as an outstanding jump off track to 2013 for both the label and the artist. Thomas Gold finishes off a year that has seen his his rise among the ranks at Axtone, mixing its 2012 compilation, his highly successful essential mix debut, a flurry of remixes and singles, and now his debut on Calvin Harris’ imprint, Fly Eye Records, “MIAO”. Thomas Gold gets right into the club ready drop of pulsing pitched chords and quick alternating snare and evolves the track with a slow melodic interlude that beckons in that same pulsing drop from before. Trance | Cosmic Gate – Calm Down (Remixes)

Posted by on November 5, 2012

German trance duo Cosmic Gate just dropped the full package for their single “Calm Down,” and while you’ve probably been hearing the original in some iteration for the better part of a year, solid new interpretations from Omnia, Ost & Meyer, and Zetandel (and an extended mix to boot) make this a nice treat for early in the week. Omnia’s remix has already been making the rounds, getting airtime on ASOT #583 and in Thomas Gold’s latest essential mix , and if you’re a fan of the young Ukrainian’s driving progressive style then you’ll definitely enjoy his latest handiwork. Ost & Meyer take a more restrained approach than Omnia but weave in big room synths that strike just the right balance. Rounding out the package is Zetandel, who pulls a Kaskade and furnishes us with a chillout mix that’s reminiscent of the latter half of Fire & Ice.

Fun fact: Omnia’s real name is Smirnov Evgeny Aleksandrovich. Now say that five times fast.

German producer / DJ, Thomas Gold has had a phenomenal year with releases like “Sing2Me“, his remix of “The Wave” and his Axtone compilation. What can be a better way to cap off the year than to do his first ever essential mix that premiers a new remix of One Republic’s recent single “Feel Again” and mixes in a dizzying number of exclusive homemade mashups. He moves through unreleased tracks like the Bingo Players’ upcoming track “Out Of My Mind” and Daddy’s Groove “Stellar”. He takes you on a journey through his rather extensive discography, mixing and mashing them with countless other tracks making the absolute most of his 2 hours. Tracklist after the jump.

Posted by on October 4, 2012

After doing a roundup for August, we are back to give you the best EDM videos from September. We start off with the video for Madeon’s “The City” that involves an intense chalk fight between two sides in an abandoned factory area. We continue after the jump with more from Lazy Rich & Chris Lake, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Thomas Gold & more.
