Electro, Girl Fire | Danny Olson & Adam Nello – Both Of Us (Remix) (Ft. Missy Modell)

Posted by on July 19, 2012

It’s no secret, I’m a sucker for a bit of Girl Fire. So what exactly is Girl Fire? Well, I’m glad you asked…basically its any track that makes ladies dancefloor hungry, and typically includes some kind of female vocal. There is no doubt in my mind that the current king of Girl Fire has to be Danny Olson… his recent remix to Nelly Furtado’s Big Hoops was an absolute bomb.

For his latest creation, Danny has teamed up with Adam Nello and Missy Modell to conquer Taylor Swift, Both of Us. Needless to say, it was a success, so check it out..

Hip-Hop | Gabriel Stark – Anniversary (Prod. DJ Skeet Skeet)

Posted by on September 5, 2011

Rising up and comer Gabriel Stark has been steadily making a name for himself as of late. His breakout song “The Runway” produced by Brenton Duvall sampling Taylor Swift’s “Mean” led him to greater fame as well as an eventual feature on XXL’s The Break. With his latest release “Anniversary”, he goes over a instrumental produced by the one and only DJ Skeet Skeet that samples none other than Taylor Swift again. He has a mixtape due out titled “Thursday in Australia” on the 15th and this opportunity to proved to be a nice layover until its release.

“Anniversary is a record that came about pretty organically. I was in the middle of writing a paper, heard the beat, dropped everything and went and recorded it. We were able to get it recorded, mixed and out to the public in less than 24 hours. It’s a nice layover until Thursday in Australia on the 15th and my album, Thank You Starky on October 20th” – Starky

Mainstream Remix | Party Supplies – Firecrackers

Posted by on August 23, 2011

As the title implies, this project is a little cornier than the FNT average. That, mind you, is not meant to undercut the brilliance of some of these remixes. I mean just check out those DOPE visuals above. If you’re looking for a joyful up-tempo song, tune in below because the two cuts I’ve offered up perfectly meet that description (and yes these are largely based off of cut and pastes). Hell, what am I saying the Taylor Swift remix is FILTHY awesome. Although I don’t fancy the other tracks, if the cuts below are right up your alley perhaps you should take a leap of faith by downloading “Firecrackers”.

DO SOMETHING

Girl Fire, Mashups | MASH-UPS | Duck Sauce, Wayne, La Roux, Taylor Swift and More

Posted by on December 16, 2010

Any mashup with “Duck Sauce” in the title immediately makes my ears moist. Here’s a well done track that features the best of both worlds; catchy funky sounds from Barbra Steisand and lyrical verses of Rich boy and Wayne. Just when I thought I couldn’t ask for more, DJ StrongArm throws us this dope bonus video he put together. Now that’s what I call a complete package.

DJ StrongArm – Throw Some Duck Sauce

Just when I thought Bulletproof had been recycled one too many times someone flips the track by throwing Taylor Swift on the bill… I love this piece of Girl Fire and I’m not embarrassed to admit it…

La Roux vs. Robyn vs. Whitney Houston vs. Taylor Swift – I Wanna Bulletproof Dancer

Travel back a few decades with this jamma bamma – not your average mash-up so give it an ear, who knows maybe it’ll brighten your day!

Electro, Hip-Hop | New Affiliated Artist: Brenton Duvall

Posted by on November 8, 2010

I’d like to introduce our latest addition to the FNT affiliated artist team, Brenton Duvall. This 19 year old producer and remix artist from Washington, D.C., currently in his sophomore year at the University of Colorado. In less than a year, he has managed to discover an audience with a string of critically acclaimed remixes featuring all original production. By using a unique blend of pop, hip-hop, and electro sounds accompanied by catchy samples, Brenton has been able to create a distinct sound in this college game. Keep an eye on this young-gun in the months to come. Below is a new track which might just be Brents best project.
