Electro | Wave Racer – Streamers (Ryan Hemsworth remix)
Posted by dshaq on February 20, 2014
Today we have this fantastic rendition of Wave Racer’s newest single, Streamers, remixed by Ryan Hemsworth. The beginning is very Vic Mensa suitcase-esque but as the song continues on it offers so many different sounds, it’s as if the whole song is broken down and simplified. If you have yet to listen to the original, then get your head out of your behind and get in tune with this Australian producer who will soon be on tour with Disclosure. Peep the songs below and support the man by buying the track on iTunes.
Indie, Progressive House | Bastille – Flaws (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Mel on February 19, 2014
There’s not really anything left to say about The Chainsmokers or a song of theirs that hasn’t already been said, so I’m going to write a paragraph saying all those things again anyway. The follow up to their godforsaken awesomely cool original “#Selfie” is an official remix for Bastille. Their version of “Flaws” has the same light progressive house infused with indie sound that many of their previous stuff does so if you’ve listened to a song of theirs before then you should know what to expect from this. The release date is currently unknown though if I were to have a guess, I would say either some time relatively soon or possibly later in the year.
Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Rap | Vonny del Fresco – Studies
Posted by admin on February 19, 2014
Vonny del Fresco is fresh off the release of his After the Fall EP and decided to keep his fans on their toes with a short burst of music. “Studies” is a minute long freestyle/video that oozes energy and takes you on an robotic-sounding ride. The song was originally produced by Mr. Carmack, a name that is becoming increasingly popular in hip-hop production, and del Fresco decided to give the new-school production wave a spin with some sharp rhymes penetrating the already complex instrumental.

Bootleg, Chill | ASTR – Hold on We’re Going Home (Tim Gunter 808 Bootleg)
Posted by dshaq on February 19, 2014
Refreshing. And that’s not describing my Starbucks Coffee that I’m currently drinking. Tim Gunter’s new take on ASTR’s cover of “Hold on We’re Going Home” is refreshing, bone-chilling, and majestic. Slowing down the beat and allowing the beautiful vocals to really shine through shows Tim’s brilliance and it’s always great to hear a new take on a song we’ve heard so many times yet still love. Make sure to show Tim some love on his Facebook and Soundcloud below and also to peep the song too. Big things for this guy in the future, and with every new release he reaffirms my claim even more.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Mike Stud – Mike Jordan [#SundayStudDay]
Posted by FilthyTaft on February 18, 2014
I swear that Sunday Stud Days get better and better every Sunday. This past Sunday, Mike Stud dropped a new song and video titled “Mike Jordan,” but it’s much more than a song. The first minute is an inspirational monologue Stud gives that tells us how he got to where he is. The line that stuck with me most is: “never let anyone or anything kill your dream, because the moment you believe something is impossible, it is.” After the speech, the song and the visuals pick up, with a smooth instrumental from Louis Bell and dope visuals from Jon Kilmer as usual. The song itself is pretty melodic and involves more singing and pitch than just straight rapping – similar to the style of Chance the Rapper. Amazing project all around, so watch the video and download the single here.

Chill, House | Niykee Heaton – Bad Intentions (Matt DiMona Remix)
Posted by Mel on February 14, 2014
Since everybody is talking about it, I suppose I’ll just get it out of the way. It’s not going to happen for me tonight. It did happen for me last night though. Just kidding it didn’t. Anyway, the girl who I spent about 30 minutes perusing her Instagram this morning, Niykee Heaton, has had her song “Bad Intentions” remixed by the currently LA based producer Matt DiMona. I don’t really know much about these kinds of romantic songs, for obvious reasons (I just don’t really like them), but this has a nice feel to it. A large portion of the original is retained but he added more of a house groove to it. He actually says that you should, and I quote, “probably have sex to this song”. Should you? Well, as I have said many times before, I don’t even know how that would work. If you want to I guess you could. If you do, please tell me about it. I would love to know.
