Progressive House | Jose Gonzalez – Step Out (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Mel on June 24, 2014
Since this is the first track from The Chainsmokers since the infamous American Idol incident, I feel I should share something with you guys. First, some background. I have written what feels like a million posts for them as well as interviewed them. Also, I think about them like all the time and they do the same for me I’m sure. The Chainsmokers, Drew and Alex, called me fat a year and a half ago. They’ve also called me “mrjerkalot” and, most recently, told me to “keep it wrapped”. They’re just two awesome guys and, honestly, if you hold that terrible hit song and the American Idol thing against them, then you’re just kind of a jerk.
Enough about that, onto the song. It sucks. Just kidding. It’s an official remix for Jose Gonzalez’s “Step Out”. They have kept a lot of the original intact, but gave it some festival power to match the anthemic vocals. It’s being released on iTunes in two days, the 26th of June.
Progressive House | Christopher Blake feat. Jenny Karr – White Nights
Posted by Mel on June 24, 2014
There are times when I come across a song and for a number of possible reasons, it makes me suspicious. When an individual by the name of Kathy dropped a link to a song in our chat box advertising it, in broken english, as the “song of tomorrorland”, I was expecting to be disappointed once I heard it and come back after my listen to delete the link, like I do all the submissions people put in the chat box. I actually really enjoyed the song however, and there was a pretty young lady dancing in the music video which just added to the enjoyment. After some in depth research, five or so minutes, I found that the producer of this song, Christopher Blake, not only doesn’t have a Soundcloud account, but judging by his Facebook page that was created less than a month ago, this is his first song. I am currently writing this on a Monday night, the scariest of nights, and this story only gets freakier. This song is the first single for the label behind the track, devilfish records. They have not released anything prior.
Even though this whole situation is extremely suspicious, the song is awesome. I even bought it on Beatport, something I never do, except for sometimes. If anyone has any more information on this, feel free to let me know. Until then, you can grab the song from the Beatport link below.
Progressive House | Steerner & Martell – Sky
Posted by Mel on June 22, 2014
When Usher and Young Jeezy joined forces in early 2008 to make the hit hip-hop classic, “Love In This Club”, the world was blown away. The melodic components of that song were what really had us hooked, similar to how the well known Steerner and the lesser known Martell hook us with their music. Martell is not as household a name as his fellow Swedish collaborator Steerner is, but if you have been following us for a little while and needed any more proof as to why FNT is one of the top 200ish music blogs in the U.S. and parts of southern Canada, we had been covering Martell for some time now, so you should be familiar. Big melodies and powerful drops are what these guys are known for and that is what this song consists of.

Hip-Hop, Rap | Black Zheep DZ – Mr. Slick
Posted by admin on June 20, 2014
Today I wanted to present to you the newest young emcee earning his keep in the DMV, Black Zheep DZ. He has performed alongside GoldLink, as well as starred in the “When I Die” music video. However, he is far more than a supporting role.
Just yesterday he dropped the newest single off of his forthcoming mixtape, 8th World. The song is called “Mr. Slick” — a self-proclaimed nickname for the 20 year old. Zheep has already made quite an impression in and around Maryland, so it’s only a matter of time before he finds his voice and is able to expand operations nationally.
In addition to “Mr. Slick”, Black Zheep also recently released a music video for his song, “Yesterdays”. A catchy, yet gritty, song that shows the direction Zheep plans to take his music. Accompanying the song is an incredibly well-done video by the fine people at Goodboy Media.

Hip-Hop, Pop, RnB, Videos | William Bolton – Let’s Stay Together (Official Music Video)
Posted by yabishcic on June 17, 2014
Today marks the release of William Bolton‘s official music video for his hit “Let’s Stay Together” that’s been blowing up over the internet recently. We’ve seen Bolton’s face on front page a couple times now with his single “Passion” and the drop of his EP, so it’s no surprise that he’s continuing to release quality projects for his fans. Though still on the come up, there’s no doubt in my mind that Bolton will reach far and wide with his music capabilities ~ not to mention his charismatic smile and killer pipes don’t already make him an easy target for any music lover. The song is upbeat, fun, and very universal with a music video to match it ~ now get ready to join the bandwagon.
If you love the song, you can buy it online through William Bolton’s new website at the bottom of the page under “Let’s Stay Together – Single”.
Progressive House | SomeKindaWonderful – Reverse (Steve James Remix)
Posted by Mel on June 13, 2014
The common theme in the music of Steve James is melody. It is always at the forefront and is the most memorable part of his tracks. This is demonstrated once again in his most recent release, a remix of SomeKindaWonderful’s “Reverse”. As the vocals end approaching the build, that’s when the excellent melody takes over and carries the song the rest of the way. For a variety of reasons, although most notably because in the tenth grade I was punched in the stomach by a girl, Steve James has not yet appeared on FNT. For those of you who were unaware of him and enjoy the track, be sure to check out his Soundcloud. There’s some great stuff on it.
