Progressive House | Steve Angello – Wasted Love ft. Dougy from The Temper Trap
Posted by Mel on July 23, 2014
The first single off Steve Angello’s upcoming album is out and it is as awesome as one would expect. The superb vocals and radio ready production destine this song to commercial success, much like how “Don’t You Worry Child” was. It’s not a huge surprise for there to be a song or two from the album that is catered to the mainstream and this is one of them. Even so, it’s a great track and a smart way to reintroduce the world to Steve Angello, the solo artist.

Chill, Trap | Adventure Club – Gold ft. Yuna (Candyland & REVOKE Remix)

Adventure Club’s track “Gold ft. Yuna” has been remixed a zillion times by now, but I liked this trap spin on it. It’s been a while since I’ve heard anyone touch this song. Candyland & Revoke gave it a different energy with chill trap beats, and a higher pitched melody to make it unique. I feel like the song tells a new story with this emotional flip. These two are always pumpin’ out trap bangers, and this remix was not a disappointment. Grab it for free if it’s your style!

Progressive House | Danzfolk – Cheyenne Indians
Posted by Middy on July 21, 2014
You know when you are listening to a song and you don’t really know what it is, but you are bobbing your head and grooving along anyway? I hit play on this bad boy, went to different tab and with the memory of a goldfish, totally forgot what I was listening to, but had the same reaction I always do with Danzfolk. The second installment of their “Sandcreek Massacre” series, the duo do it again with another big, bouncy, cinematic tune. Below is the story that is the backdrop for the track, which you can grab for free now.
In 1864, Colonel John Chivington and the Colorado Cavalry massacred the Cheyenne Indians at Sand Creek, Colorado. The causes of the massacre were rooted in the long conflict for control of the Great Plains. During the Civil War, tension began to rise and sporadic violence broke out between Anglos and the Native Americans. After meeting to forge a new peace treaty, the Colorado Cavalry, in what can only be considered an act of treachery, brutally attacked the unsuspecting Cheyenne Indians. Hundreds of men, women and children were murdered, and the village was set on fire. This song tells the story of the brave indians who fought to defend their sacred land.

If there is one song you’re going to listen today, make it this one. Not only are these two kids 19, this is also their first release EVER. We don’t know much about this duo, but I’m sure we’re going to see a lot more from them in the near future. The FREE DOWNLOAD is linked in the SoundCloud player!
Alternative, Chill | Prelow – Mistakes Like This
Posted by admin on July 16, 2014
It takes a lot for an alternative or indie band to stick out to me. My ear isn’t particular honed in this genre, and I never like to point people in the direction of an artist or song that isn’t amazing. Luckily for me and you, I have no qualms telling you the Prelow is one of the most exciting and intriguing Indie bands out right now, period.
With only three songs in the entirety of their catalogue, the New York duo has shown us many sides and an incredible amount of talent.
Their most recent song “Mistakes Like This” is another huge leap forward in their music. The blunt chorus immediately stands out to listeners, contrasted against the tender verses. Take a listen below to the all-to-relatable song.
And my dick takes over,
and I’m thinkin’ about your lips,
but we’re too damn sober,
for mistakes like this.
Progressive House | CLMD ft. Sirena – Wild Men
Posted by Mel on July 4, 2014
It’s Friday, the most dreaded day of the week for the slightly overweight. It’s also the Fourth of July, so I suppose I should wish a happy Independence Day to all you Americans out there. CLMD is helping you celebrate with the release of their, sadly, final song as a duo. Carl Louis is parting ways to focus on his solo career, while Martin Danielle is going to continue producing under the CLMD moniker. They are ending on a high with what is their biggest release since the incredibly well-received “The Stockholm Syndrome”. “Wild Men” features some amazing vocals and has a summer feel to its light, easygoing progressive sound. The release of this song has been long-awaited and it certainly lives up to expectations.

Hip-Hop, Rap | Saba – Butter
Posted by admin on July 3, 2014
People who follow my postings on Fresh New Tracks, should not be surprised to see the name, Saba, appear. The straight-firing Chicago emcee has had a constant stream of music being released over the past few weeks, each song preparing listeners even more for the final body of work it fits in to.
“Butter” is his newest song and video, which flows from his mouth to your ears as smooth as –dare I say– butter. Saba touches on his family life, and other subjects close to the heart all while keeping the song positive and an enjoyable listen.
Stream the song below, and give the video a look here, if you’re interested.
