Forever Kid is back again with a brand new remix with hopes of winning both Nervo’s tender love as well as their remix competition. After listening to over 50 submissions of this remix, this track is by far the best produced, melodic, and overall remix by far. This LA based duo hailing form Stockholm, Sweden is beyond deserving of a win here for their consistency and pure raw talent, you may remember them from their banger/party starter remix of Somebody I Used to Know”. With the renaissance of music festivals and growing popularity of electronic music, it’s safe to say my attendance to live shows grew exponentially in 2012 (not that I had that many years under my belt to begin with). However, this really changed my perception of music and how I listened to it. Before, I would see an artist based on my familiarity with them and listen to their songs on repeat in the parking lot until moments leading up to the show. Now, it’s more so that I attend a concert based on the artist’s live talent and/or how much fun the performance will be. When I hear their songs in the future, I get sentiments of that first time I heard it sitting outside in a grassy field surrounded by flag holders or squished up against girls in moonboots rather than it’s premier on SiriXM radio. For me, music in 2012 was not about what would get me out of bed in the morning or play in the background at the gym while I worked out: it was what I could dive into and take me away from any known reality. I guess it’s always kind of been that way, but once you get a peek at my top 12, I think you’ll understand what I mean.

But you don’t have to tell the Dean’s List, as they’re back with a new single from their forthcoming “Generation X” project featuring Berklee college of music student Dani Ummel, outlining the pitfalls of the industry. Dani Ummel is no stranger to working with the super-duo, lending her vocals to “No Sleep” and “Light Up The Sky” on their previous “The Drive In” mixtape. Hollywood is calling. I predict The Dean’s List will answer with “Generation X” on April 3rd.

It’s not everyday you’ll find a smokeshow spitting bars faster than that dude from your high school who thinks he’s a rapper. I’ll be honest, Bailee Moore, may need some work behind the mic, but when you’re as smoke as she is, it’s hard to fail. The Cleveland chick claims this to be her first rap ever and if that’s the case, she may have potential. So what are my FNT faithfuls thinking about this chick? Is she the next Chanel aka CC (Fantasy Factory’s Rapping Receptionist) — drop a few freestyles then get picked up by Maxim? Or does she actually have musical talent?
