Duo Pineo & Loeb are moving fast in 2019, the group kicking off with a bang via a 12+ stop tour around Canada. To top this, Elevation was announced and subsequently released, showing a continuation of their EDM-cover tinged sound. Elevation features 12 twists on a variety of culturally popular classics, including songs originally done by The Killers and Daft Punk.
Covers are solid strategies in the streaming age, all-the-while P&L’s chill and house take takes it to another level. Pineo & Loeb’s previous cover of “Ghosts N Stuff” received praise across media outlets and love on YouTube Music promotional channels. With Halloween right around the corner, one can expect several spooky releases to coincide with the holiday and PINEO & LOEB, alongside Sparkee and Christiana Armstrong, are right on time. The veritable dream team masterfully execute a funky electro cover of yet another track by the legendary deadmau5. “Ghosts N Stuff,” out one day prior to the original’s release, is packed to the top with insanely mobile basslines, driving rhythms, and an eerie topline.
With releases on Westwood Recordings and Sleeveless Records, The sound of Nova Scotia’s PINEO & LOEB garnered the support of industry A-listers such as The Chainsmokers and many others. Sparkee, also a Nova Scotian native, is continuing a string of content between himself and deadmau5 with this release, which began when his cover of “Strobe” garnered millions of plays after deadmau5 declared the bassline “impossible”. One can predict this won’t be the last time hearing from this trio of talent, together or separately.

Receiving some typical sarcastic but positive attention from a legend, Sparkee and PINEO & LOEB’s track “Feel It” dropped earlier in the month, Deadmau5 playing it out on his Twitch stream, both criticizing and complimenting it. This high energy piece of music features wild synths and an intense, pulse-pounding rhythm backed by exceptional production quality. Sparkee brings his own talents to bear with his use of basslines, himself having remixed the mau5 previously and receiving critical acclaim, yet this time providing a groovy foundation for “Feel It” that donates his iconic energy and feel.
PINEO & LOEB are a relatively new set of talent emerging from Nova Scotia but are hitting the game hard with a ton of enthusiasm, skill and fresh creativity.
