It’s always great to see countrymen coming together for some studio magic. Hailing from Amsterdam, Bolier & the duo, Redondo, have been influencing the scene with their own brand of house that’s light-hearted, but also fit for the dance floor. With the vocalist Bitter’s Kiss, the trio of Dutch up-and-comers have come through with “Lost & Found,” which features four-on-the-floor rhythms, a smooth bassline, synths, and even guitar to give it another dimension outside of the electronic sound. Last night I had the pleasure of catching AlunaGeorge’ sold-out NYC show at the Bowery, and after seeing them live, I think I like their new album “Body Music” even more. AlunaGeorge is made up of Aluna Francis and George Reid, whom are both from London, and I strongly suggest you listen to the album. George’s productions mesh perfectly with Aluna’s particular vocals, which at times reminds me of Janet Jackson’s voice from back in the days, or Inoj’s voice, for those who know her. There’s no doubt about it, “Body Music” is fresh and you’re bound to find a track you love. My favorites off the album so far are “Best Be Believing,” “Attracting Flies,” and “Lost & Found.” Stream the album on SoundCloud and get that on iTunes or find a way to get it, this is an excellent album!
