I’ve been trying to make sense as to why I’ve been listening to this track on repeat by Yeo “Girl,” and the answer might just be that’s it a good record. Yeo is a songwriter/producer from Melbourne, Australia who performs all of his music with a live band. He’s been getting support from acts such as Adam Green and Kimbra, and if that’s not a co-sign to capture your attention, I’m not sure what will. If you’re into dream pop, and could use a nice record to calm your nerves on this Thursday afternoon, let Yeo take care of you. This is a must listen!

Hip-Hop | Huey Mack ft. Scolla & Kimbra – Settle Down (Prod. Jon Kilmer)

Posted by on June 6, 2012

It has been a little while since we’ve heard some new music from Huey Mack. He recruited fellow RLES member Scolla, as well as a sample from Kimbra’s popular song “Settle Down” on this one. The beat was produced by none other than Jon Kilmer and was featured on his recent Baberaham Lincoln beat mixtape which you can check out here!

Electro-House | Kimbra – Settle Down (Feature Cuts Remix) [Music Video]

Posted by on May 23, 2012

Feature Cuts comes through with a crazy, glitchy, Electro House remix of Kimbra’s single “Settle Down”. It’s a little more mellow than his usual face-melting Dubstep remixes but this direction sounds great as well. The dreamy syths and Kimbra voice sound perfect together. Download the remix below and become a fan of Feature Cut on Facebook. Update: Added the remix video for Feature Cuts’ remix.

Dubstep | Kimbra – Settle Down (TYR & Rodway Remix)

Posted by on May 15, 2012

This has to be one of my favorite remixes right now. It is a submission into Warner Bros. Records Inc. remix competition, which is part of Kimbra’s upcoming album, ‘Vows.’ Kimbra, made extremely famous being featured in Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Use To Know,’ has an incredible voice. She has the indie stye to her voice, with the power to achieve world peace in it. One of the most important factors to this remix is that TYR & Rodway made sure there was still a lot of emphasis put on her vocals. The remix seems simple, yet it is a work of art at the same time. An incredible job done by the two, I really hope they win the competition.

Electronic | Gotye – Somebody I Used To Know ft. Kimbra (DJ M.O.S. Remix)

Posted by on March 12, 2012

Even though Gotye’s “Somebody I Used To Know” is arguably the most remixed song on the planet right now, this Indie Dance remix of it by DJ M.O.S is definitely worth a listen. It should brief new life into the song if you have found yourself sick of hearing it by now. It is a simple yet effective remix.

Electro | Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know ft. Kimbra (Robotic Pirate Monkey Remix)

Posted by on February 25, 2012

Brand new single from Boulder’s Robotic Pirate Monkey remixing what I expect to be the “Pumped Up Kicks” of 2012, Gotye’s “Somebody I Used To Know”. One of my favorite remixes I’ve heard of the song thus far. It keeps all the best parts of the original and the added Electro makes it that much better.
