With appearances at HARD Summer, the upcoming Holy Ship!, multiple records on Dirtybird, and a forthcoming EP on Pets Recordings, Justin Jay’s humble beginnings as a future talent are not too shabby to say the least. Going into his last semester at USC, the 22-year-old producer can now add a world premiere on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show to his wall of accomplishments. Annie Mac debuted his newest remix of Disciples’ “They Don’t Know” to expose Justin Jay’s production finesse to anyone unfortunate enough to not be following him. JJ allows the remix to take on a personality of its own as he strips Disciples’ original of it’s playfulness and replaces it with a brooding counterpart. Fans can move and groove to the LA producers’ expertly hatched drum work and sulking synth melodies. Check out the premiere above and be on the look out for the official release coming soon.

Events | Bounce Boat Prepares For Inaugural Voyage in 2014 With The Chainsmokers

Posted by on March 7, 2014

BB College Battl Final Poster

Though the boat party headlines are taken up by Holy Ship, Groove Cruise and now Mad Decent, in NYC, we have Bounce Boat, that may not be as long a voyage, but for a great night at sea, it goes above & beyond the call of duty. Bounce Boat will be hitting the high seas on its traditional luxury liner, Hornblower Infinity with an increased capacity of 1,200 people. The Hornblower Infinity is one of the most impressive boats on the Hudson: equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system, a fully sound-integrated LED light system, and spacious facilities on all three floors and the Skydeck.

On the 4th, the Campus DJ tour will be boarding the ship, as they attempt to find the best DJ on your college campus. They have brought along The Chainsmokers as the guest headliner to play alongside Sean Glass, Goshfather & Jinco and potentially you (if you are a DJ in college). Riding the #Selfie craze to a rather unexpected level stardom in the pop realm, The Chainsmokers are on the tip of everybody’s tongue, from Access Hollywood to Ryan Seacrest. Chipotle will be providing food aboard the ship, which begins boarding at 6:30, departs at 8pm from Pier 40 and returns at midnight. Grab your tickets here.

Albums | Steve Aoki – Wonderland (Review)

Posted by on January 18, 2012

Steve Aoki has already seen big things in 2012 and we’re barely halfway through January. He started off by headlining a wild three-day cruise around the Bahamas (have you seen the pictures from Holy Ship? Craaazy) and then immediately turned around to drop his hotly anticipated debut album, “Wonderland.” Big ups to Steve and the whole Dim Mak gang — the album has understandably been generating a ton of buzz around the interwebz since its Jan 9th release. But now that the dust has begun to settle, let’s cut through the Paris Hilton tweets and MTV.com accolades to see what’s actually going on here. READ ON >>
