After getting the nod of approval from Swizz Beatz on his remix of Ruff Ryders’ “Down Bottom”, B.Dolla decided it only made sense to take on another classic track produced by Swizz. One of DMX’s most recognizable songs, “Ruff Ryders Anthem” is a staple for 90’s hip hop. I remember I used to bump this song heavy back in middle school. Already an energy packed song, B.Dolla kicks it up a few BPMs to take the song over the edge. Grab the free download below.

XV gives us a visual treatment for his take on Drake’s “The Motto”.  Keeping it real for his Squarians while on his “Midwest State of Mind” tour, Vizzy delivers 7 traits of L7 (make an “L” and a “7” with your hands, flip them and put them together, you’ve got a square– you’re a Squarian).

DMX goes bonkers on this beat, emphasizing the fact he stays gangsta in the club, swaying to the beat.  Recruiting Bad Boy’s hard spitting white boy, MGK, who I think was star struck by the fact his all time favorite Ruff Rider had put him on a track.  This track will likely be on DMX’s upcoming project, Undisputed.

Kid Ink keeps pumping out the new free music as his recent track, “Time Of My Life”, off his debut album Up & Away keeps crawling up the iTunes charts.  Doing what he does best, The Alumni takes Kirko Bangz track “Drank In My Cup” and flips it to be more environmentally sustainable, if you know what I mean.

Los releases his newest mixtape, The Crown Ain’t Safe, and it’s safe to say this mixtape will turn heads in the industry. With features from Jahlil Beats, XV, Twista, and DMX this is a must download project from the Baltimore native. One of the more lyrically gifted artists around today look for Los to explode on the rap scene in 2012.

Hip-Hop | Common Ft. Nas, DMX, & The Knox Ft. Kid Cudi | Hip-Hop

This new track is awesome. Nas is an old favorite of mine so naturally I just had to take a listen. The beat is oldschool, sounding sick with Common and Nas. Both of them kill it on this.

I laughed when I first saw who this track was by. When was the last time DMX dropped some new stuff. This track is a lot softer than the old DMX style. Despite the huge difference from his usual style, this track sounds great. Much credit to you DMX.

Not sure what inspired Kid Cudi to start doing some rock stuff. Cudi doesn’t sound half bad on this and the beat has a nice feel good beat. Not amazed, but much better sounding than Wayne’s attempt at rock.

Hip-Hop | American Mob, Wiz Khalifa, DMX, J. Cole | Hip-Hop

I came across this track and loved every aspect of it, from the chorus to the Young Ivy feature. If you’re digging this track as much as I am, pick it up on Itunes. And heres some new Wiz, and DMX to start off your week…

DMX goes in on this track produced by Swizz Beatz. Maybe Swizz is finally realizing that he’s only good producing and not rapping?

BONUS: J. Cole

For those of you only interested in J. Cole’s verse (like me) fast forward to 2:40.

Hip-Hop | HIP-HOP | Rihanna ft. J Cole “S&M (Remix)”

I wonder how much Def Jam had to pay Rihanna to sing about S&M (ps I know the original came out in Nov so don’t chastise me in the c-box, I never listened to it then). Don’t little girls like worship this chick? How awkward is it for them to hear this? And I thought listening to DMX drop F, B, and N-bombs with my parents in the car was bad…

“Its so good being bad there’s no way I’m turning back. All the pain is for pleasure because nothing can measure… Sex in the air I don’t care I love the smell of it. Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me.”

This just goes to show (like Em said in Syllables) all you need is a hot beat. I’m glad J. Cole hopped on this to make it a little more legit.
