Dubstep, Electronic | Felix Cartal feat. Ofelia – New Scene (CRNKN Remix)

Posted by on November 14, 2013

It’s always a pleasure to hear a new CRNKN song. CRNKN’s remix of “New Scene” by Felix Cartal feat. Ofelia is some pretty chill work. It could maybe be considered melodic dubstep, or just electronic. The vocals by Ofelia are very pretty, and the melody in this track is outstanding. This is out on Dim Mak Records and luckily is free to download!

Electronic | LIZ – U Over Them (Peking Duk & CRNKN Remix)

Posted by on October 26, 2013

Currently v obsessed with Mad Decent’s own LIZ. This remix is of her track “U Over Them” by Peking Duk and CRNKN (that’s pronounced “crankin'”) is just a really great jam. Short and sweet today – this is kind of a mix of a whole buncha different styles but it’s got an overall great vibe so indulge and enjoy.

Hip-Hop | CRNKN – Toy Box

Posted by on January 6, 2013

This turned out to be a pleasant surprise today. I have been diligently working on my top tracks of the year and needed a little break only to come across this phat Hip-Hop instrumental from CRNKN. In the comments all he says is that he was bored one day. Maybe he should be bored more and produce more Hip-Hop beats like this. Someone really needs to drop hot verses on this bad boy.

Dubstep | R Rated #37

Posted by on July 11, 2012

Kicking off this week’s R Rated we have a freebie from UKF of Dream and Archie Cane’s track Who Cares. This one is a big collab from these two that has been rinsed out by the likes of Skream, Benga, Skrillex and many others. Dream is a pretty underrated producer in my eyes, and the only thing holding him back from being more noticed is the amount of releases he has. Either way these two were able to brew up a masterpiece that has a Never Say Die feel mixed with some of Eptic’s style.

Ellie Goulding has one of the best voices in the business and it is no surprise as to why everyone is dying to get on a track with her. Lately we have seen a rising amount of remixes of her tracks, and Mach found the jackpot. This remix by Pittman immediately gave off that Alvin Risk style with some heavy sounds mixed between. The build up and progression through it are amazing in itself not to even mention the exploding drop.

Horx and P3000 are slowly climbing their way to the top with their set of releases lately. Horx definitely shows his experience within this group by bringing some awesome unique styles to every track their name is on. I love the soloed out vocals with the soft sounds in the background that set the stage for the grimey drop.

CRNKN cranked out this nice remix of Adventure Club’s Do I See Color with a little twist of his own. I love the synths and build ups CRNKN used in this remix, and it is also nice to see him making some dubstep again. Nothing too crazy from him on the drop, but tasteful and bass-filled enough for R Rated.

Moombahton | Moombah Mondays (Trap Edition)

Posted by on May 14, 2012

Moomba Blasta has been on point with their Trap uploads lately, and they have won me over. Honestly I cannot get enough of Trap-style after roaming through their youtube channel so I decided this weeks Moombah Mondays is going to be dedicated to Trap-style tracks.  Starting off with the above track; wow do I love those vocals. The quick drums and snares accompanied by that heavy bass kick are bound to get the job done for any crowd. Whether you like it or not Flosstradamus, being one of the big names in Trap, is having their tracks played out by all the big names; Diplo, Flux Pavillion, Dillon Francis just to name a few. Just to help broaden your views on the genre I have two tracks from Flosstradamus on this weeks Trap-style Mondays. One is an old track that I just fell in love with again after hearing it being freestyled over by Papoose on Sway In The Morning, 5 Fingers of Death Freestyles. The newer one entitled Look At The Sky, gives you a taste of some hip-hop infused Trap music. Both bringing some extreme boundaries together into one amazing genre that is still growing.

This next one is a secret weapon of Luminox’s that he was kind enough to give away. I never new the famous Bingo Players track Rattle would ever be pushed to these bounds, but this is one of my favorite remixes to the track. The prolonged bass kick, fits perfectly with this melody and the reversal of the melody on the second drop worked out phenomenally.

Another truly remarkable and unique interpretation of a big dubstep track. Doctor P decided to put his single Neon up for a remix competition and so far most artist have decide to just try their hand at it, but end up giving away their remixes. This one I was happy to have from CRNKN, because it is so organized and well constructed. Nothing feels forced or out of place like I have heard with other tracks. I would love to see this sort of track being played more by big EDM artist to help expand these smaller genres.

Bootleg, Dubstep | Justice – D.A.N.C.E. (CRNKN Bootleg)

Posted by on March 23, 2012

Oh God, Grube’s posting Dubstep, hide ya’ kids, hide ya wife!  Yes, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone on this one and if you think I should go back into my hip-hop shell, tell me, I won’t be offended.  CRNKN, who is a native to my Granite State, is a recognizable name for the avid FNT followers as he’s been stirring some audio waves for a couple months now.  On top of that, anyone who saw my post on Logic’s Justice remix of “D.A.N.C.E.” knows how much I love the beat.  I’m not going to try to sound technical like I know what I’m talking about cause I don’t, but trust me on this one, this joint from CRNKR cracks.

P.S. He’s looking for a new logo so any designers out there that are up for the task, hit him up on Facebook or Twitter and check his SoundCloud here.
