Progressive House | Chris Lake – Ohh Shhh
Posted by Middy on March 21, 2013
Following up his collab with Michael Woods, “Black Thong”, Chris Lake makes his return to American dance music giant, Ultra Records. “Ohh Shhh” is the quintisential club track with driving dutch synths, a hard hitting, rolling bass line and builds that do not let the energy drop one bit. The cover art is one to behold as well, for sure get you to chuckle. With his album coming later this year, Chris Lake is showing promise for what should be an outstanding 2013 for the Scottish Dj / producer.

Rap, Trap | PropaneLv – Harlem Shake Remix
Posted by Jess on February 22, 2013
The viral video craze that accompanies Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” has hit the stratosphere in the last week as thousands of YouTube users upload their own chaos filled videos to the trap beat. To my surprise, not many opportunistic rappers have jumped on it. I guess it was a perfect fit for PropaneLv and the next installment in his cover series – and he had the LTRMN goons on deck to give his video for it the usual Harlem Shake treatment. Download is on his Facebook below.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Machine Gun Kelly – Champions ft. Puff Daddy
Posted by LoffyG on February 19, 2013
Since coming from the bottom is all the hype right now we might as well talk Machine Gun Kelly, a rapper who definitely came from the bottom and is now here. After dropping his first studio album and having the first single “Wild Boy” achieve gold status, he’s currently preparing to release his next mixtape, “Black Flag”. As a preview of the mixtape he dropped this new video dropping some bars over Kayne’s classic “Champions” beat. He recruits Puff Daddy, yes I said Puff Daddy not Diddy, to let everyone know that EST 19XX are the champions. Check out the video and catch the mixtape cover after the jump!

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | WoodysProduce – OutKast Remixed Mixtape
Posted by Mach on February 11, 2013
I have been extremely excited for the release of this remix mixtape. WoodysProduce states “OutKast is the greatest duo in music. Ever. Since they are not getting back together anytime soon, I wanted to shed new light on some of my favorite songs and give people some new Kast to bump.” He couldn’t have said it any better. OutKast was amazing, they revolutionized Hip-Hop, and were one of the most influential duos of our generation. Woody revamped 11 great tracks. My top 5 remixes in no specific order are “ATLiens,” “Intl Player Anthem,” “Wheelz of Steel,” “B.O.B.,” and “Jazzy Belle.” Of course, this entire mixtape is awesome, the top 5 of others will differ from mine. My one negative is that I was sad he did not remix “The Way You Move” seeing as it is one of my favorites but this is not a real complaint. Enough chat, Woody provides nostalgia at its finest.

Hip-Hop, Videos | PropaneLv ft. Pen Stein – On The Road [Music Video]
Posted by Jess on February 10, 2013
PropaneLv drops off his latest original release featuring Pen Stein. “On The Road” is the ballad of an up & comer with a melodic hook complimented by some screwed vocals working nicely for the Portlander. The visual by Martin Van Londen fits well and features great scenery of Portland’s bridges and waterfront. If you’re not familiar, PropaneLv has an ongoing cover series over on his YouTube and this original is available for download below.

Chill, Hip-Hop | Jacob Es – Swimming in the Sublime (Mixtape)
Posted by J_Salzer on February 6, 2013
This post is about two weeks late, and for that I apologize. But I’ve been hella busy, and I’m just having the chance to sit down and take a listen to Jacob Es’ latest mixtape. I’ve been listening to Jacob’s music since I first started blogging about a year and a half ago. I’ve seen steady improvement from Jacob, and that’s one of the main things I look for in upcoming artists.
On his tape, Swimming in the Sublime, Jake picks up solid features from Reeves of Aer and FNT favorite Jetpack Jones. The production is solid throughout, with up-tempo, positive beats without too much synthesizers and other electronic instruments we often hear on the radio. Just looking at the album cover, you’ll get a feel for where this mixtape will take you. Check out the mixtape in it’s entirety below via soundcloud.
