Trap | Bro Safari – That A$$

Posted by on September 13, 2012

Bro Safari is back with another big free download for his fans, this time bringing us some bouncy trap that’s tailor-made for a 12th Planet liveset, that house party you were thinking of throwing this weekend, or your car’s speakers when you’re whippin it with the windows down and want to let the world know what’s good. Yes, everyone is all over trap right now (undoubtedly to the endless amusement of the hip hop community, which has been pumping out trap since 1873), but there’s no denying that when it’s good it gets the vibes flowing like nothing else.

House | Extacy Beats- Rhino (Original Mix)

Posted by on July 3, 2012

This song is straight fire from start to finish, if you were wanting the opportunity to stop and breathe then go outside and take a lap. This is the anthem for a straight rage with glitter, strobe lights, unicorns and midgets on trapezes. It is the anthem for thinking that adderall was tylenol and then crushing it at the gym. It is the anthem for getting pulled over because you were thinking you were in a car chase. Proceed with Caution.

Electro-House, Mashups | Kaskade vs. Steve Aoki & Tommy Trash – Be Still Ladi Dadi (Kaskade’s Freaks of Nature Mashup)

Posted by on May 30, 2012

I’ve always been a big fan of Kaskade, but ever since “Fire & Ice” established itself during EDC weekend as our de facto car soundtrack he and I have been undergoing a serious renaissance. As we know, the 41 year-old loves treating his fans to free mashups (which usually involve the juxtaposition of soaring female vocals and unlikely backdrops); here, he layers the vocals from his own “Be Still” on top of Tommy Trash’s remix of “Ladi Dadi.” I’m personally more partial to “Be Still Big Bang”, as I find that Franz Novotny’s instrumental offers a particularly stirring context for the vocals, but this is wonderfully done and a great listen.

DO SOMETHING

Electro | Calvin Harris ft. Neyo – Let’s Go (M2 Bootleg)

Posted by on May 22, 2012

Our bud DJ M2 recently submitted this for the Pepsi and Beatport competition, here’s what he has to say about the track “Using a bunch of melodic synth patterns with some heavy drums and subs, I combined the sounds of house and pop. My goal was to create something that can be played everywhere, from jamming in your car to rocking out in the clubs. Please take some time to vote for me in the beaport remix competition- I would greatly appreciate it. ”

Hip-Hop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Same Damn Time

Posted by on May 16, 2012

“After hearing Ying Yang absolutely murder this Future track live at Daytona Beach, we decided we had to grab an APC and make it our own.”

I solve complex algorithms and execute a cost-benefit analysis… at the same damn time. I eat breakfast while I re-organize my iTunes playlists… at the same damn time. I write phone numbers down in the car while I’m driving… at the same damn time. While I’m certainly a multi-tasker, Timeflies has edged me this week, as they’ve dropped another viral masterpiece that flips Future’s trapstar ballad “Same Damn Time” as Rob builds the beat from scratch on an MPC. This will have the ratchet community confused and suburban white girls from Kansas googling why Future copied Timeflies song in the first place… at the same damn time!

Hip-Hop | Pat Stansik- I’m 24 (Video)

I’m not really that old but I’m not that young, when it comes to my life I’m 1/3 of the way done.

I feel your struggle Pat. I feel your struggle. It hits close to home, as I’m only a few months away from 24 myself. And I’m definitely feeling the effects. All of my friends are getting married. I can’t stay out as late as I used to. I’ve gained like 10 pounds. Growing up is hard, despite the fact that my I’m on my parent’s health insurance, and car insurance, and phone bill. But I digress. This song goes out to all you 20 somethings just trying to find your path in life. Shout out to all my people born in 1988. Represent!
