Having an opportunity to travel the country sharing good vibrations with thousands and thousands of fans is far fetched for many of us. The duo native to Massachusetts has been privileged with the opportunity to tour the beautiful US of A on several occasions. On their latest tour with Hoodie Allen, Jared Evan, and Mod Sun, David and Carter found it fitting to shoot visuals for their most recent single “Take It Wrong” across various scenery in some of their favorite cities. These guys are absolutely insane. I know nothing about them, and I had never heard of them until Max from Aer’s camp introduced me, but their music is addictive. The video is hilarious, and the music is great. You can tell that these guys are having the time of their lives, and it makes listening to their music that much better. The beat is a dance infused, radio ready, banger, and the lead singers vocals remind me of an alternative rock singer from the 2000’s. I feel guilty for sitting on this for the past week without posting. I’m sure the loyal Fresh Aer breathers have already inhaled this free EP, but for those who haven’t, I highly suggest taking a long deep breath and listening through.
With summer around the corner (hopefully) for us Northerners, Aer decides it’s only right to share some freebies with their fans to honor their continued loyalty. Although these may only be low tide tracks in comparison to what they’re going to hit us with this summer, I’ve looped this in full at least once daily since it dropped. Fire. With features from Mod Sun & Guy Harrison and production from Ratatat, Pete Rock, mattMIGGZ, and of course instrumental work by David and Carter themselves, you’d be foolish to pass on this.

Aer is back and better than ever with their first release since the release of their album The Bright Side. “Take it Wrong” is the first single off of their upcoming Strangers EP due to be released on March 19th. If this is a taste of what’s to come, their upcoming EP should be their best yet. Be on the look out for the Strangers EP and be sure to catch Aer on tour with Hoodie Allen.

This post is about two weeks late, and for that I apologize. But I’ve been hella busy, and I’m just having the chance to sit down and take a listen to Jacob Es’ latest mixtape. I’ve been listening to Jacob’s music since I first started blogging about a year and a half ago. I’ve seen steady improvement from Jacob, and that’s one of the main things I look for in upcoming artists.
On his tape, Swimming in the Sublime, Jake picks up solid features from Reeves of Aer and FNT favorite Jetpack Jones. The production is solid throughout, with up-tempo, positive beats without too much synthesizers and other electronic instruments we often hear on the radio. Just looking at the album cover, you’ll get a feel for where this mixtape will take you. Check out the mixtape in it’s entirety below via soundcloud.

Genre is not a word in Aer’s vocabulary. The combination of sounds they combine always leaves me coming back for more. Their laid back sound and catchy choruses have allowed them to build up a quality and solid fan base. Damn. Now listen, I’m not the BIGGEST Aer fan, and I don’t claim to be. But I do know their music pretty well, but I had no idea Carter had pipes like this. Now of course, I’m not saying he should be rivaling Colin McLaughlin on The Voice anytime soon. But for a rapping duo, it’s awesome to have someone who can sing to change up the pace/feel a little. David is on the guitar, and Carter is singing, for all you ladies out there who need that information. They absolutely destroy this cover, making it a perfect track to relax you in the middle of the week.
