The Blancos from Brooklyn know how to make music, and that’s a fact, peep their record “Love’s Impossible,” some indie soul rock music to get you through this grey humid April afternoon. Obviously under the radar, my friend Scott hit me with 3 of their records, notably the one featured here, but make sure you check out “Lemon Garden,” and “Losing Sleep” both quality productions which explore the sample game, and capture that refreshing sound. I was also told that they have exciting news coming up, so keep an ear out for that. This is a must listen, and we’re still waiting on that download!

Hip hop has been struggling lately with new talent, but watch out, Toronto native Sean Leon is making a statement for 2014.
After releasing his project, “narcissus, THE DROWNING OF EGO”, he plans on releasing a slew of new music in 2014 and taking the industry by storm. I honestly feel bad for downloading this for free, it is that good.
Make sure you DL the project here and look out for Sean Leon:

Albums | Young Money Yawn – Lost Scriptures (Mixtapes)

The DMV has made quite a statement recently with new talent springing up right and left. The influx of new musicians to watch certainly doesn’t stop with Young Money Yawn. The 20 year old emcee takes on a more “street” side of Virginia, and speaks about his come up over a variety of different production styles.
Those who follow the DMV hip-hop scene closely might recognize the Board of Administration’s, Black Cobaine feature, amongst others. The tape is packed with eighteen original songs as well as a few bonus tracks, and aside from the speaking interludes getting a bit repetitive, the project is a very strong body of work. Stream and download in its entirety below!
Albums, Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House | FNT Premiere: Sgt Slick – Everyday (Dave Winnel Vicious21 Remix) From Vicious 21
Posted by Middy on March 3, 2014
Vicious Recordings is turning 21 this year and celebrate this momentous occasion, they have compiled 21 classics and 21 new remixes of songs that represent the storied history of the label. In a genre that has only been around for about 35 years, it is all to often we see labels, clubs and other institutions fade into obscurity after a short run on top. To remain one of the great labels, riding the highs and lows of the industry and remaining a consistent force at discovering new talent and promoting great music throughout the years. Based in Australia, just a few of the guys the label has helped break include Avicii, Dirty South, Peking Duk, Angger Dimas and many more.
With the compilation coming out tomorrow on Beatport, we are proud to premiere the Dave Winnel remix of Sgt Slick “Everyday”. Those of you who are fans of Kaskade’s compilation albums (raises hand), will recognize the piano-heavy remix by Digital Lab from Dance.Love, but now hometown kid, Dave Winnel takes over the reigns for a remix fit for 2014. The stunning vocal is left intact as Dave Winnel adds a bouncy bass line underneath a bed of synths that are a mix of a throwback to when this tune was originally released and to the sounds of today. Stream the tune below before it comes out tomorrow. Check out the teaser for the compilation below and see the full tracklist after the jump.

Without making too much of a political statement, I just think it’s worth taking note of female producers who can get their work recognized. Honestly, it’s quite a bit harder for women in this part of the music industry to get noticed, so when they do, it’s definitely in your best interest to check them out.
This time with a chilled-out, dubstep original, Denver native ill-Esha gives you something special to kick back to, bringing together deep bass and slow vibes in an incredible fashion. Luckily for you, the entire 11-track Open Heart Surgery album is up for “name your price” download on Bancamp, so make sure you grab yourself a copy.

Albums, Trance | Markus Schulz – Scream 2 (Album Review)
Posted by Middy on February 27, 2014
Somehow, in between the marathon sets, constant travel and acting as a label head, Markus Schulz has found the time to release the follow up artist album, his fifth, to his 2012 effort, “Scream“. The DJ and the producer go hand and hand for Markus Schulz as what he makes has to be ready for a set that could last up to 12 hours, something he does more often than most. This album, like “Scream” delves into the more melodic side of his sound, but injects bigger and trancier melodies than the first edition. Stream the songs from album in a special episode of Global DJ Broadcast below, grab the CD, and watch the 25 minute behind the scenes documentary that goes into how the album was made, the stress of deadline day and details on the various collabs.
Albums, Electronic | The Glitch Mob – Love Death Immortality (Album Review)
Posted by Middy on February 21, 2014
Innovative electronic duo, The Glitch Mob have released their sophomore artist album “Love Death Immortality”. Following up their 2010 effort, “Drink The Sea”, Ed Ma “edIT”, Joshua Mayer “Ooah” and Justin Boreta “Boreta”, reinforce their standing within their own unique, niche electronic space that they have helped carve and have steadily grown with each passing release and show. The album shot all the way up to number two on the iTunes overall album charts, showing not only the dedication of their incredibly passionate fan base, but also the mass appeal that their sound has garnered despite it not being mainstream or commercial in anyway.
