When super manager Stefan Jobe sends me new music, I know it’s going to be something serious. Dubbed “the next face of vocal EDM”, Larcy continue to impress with her second Prince Fox produced release. If this is any indicator of Larcy’s trajectory, I’d say she’s an artist to keep an eye on. So I’ve got this friend in Israel. His name is Shlomo Jamil. Even though we’ve never met, we talk like every single day. We have a hard time understanding each other sometimes, but we communicate via sharing links to music back and forth. He has a passion for music just like I do. He’s basically the Israeli version of me. I’ve always thought “music is a universal language” is such a cliche catch-phrase, but in this case it actually applies. He hits me up tonight, tells me to listen to this. I don’t even understand the lyrics but this is the epitome of girl fire.
So, here’s the deal with TripL & Eliad’s breakout third “Bailando single. The Tel-Aviv production team “TripL” produced it and it interpolates elements from the famed 1997 “Bailando” by “Paradisio”, featuring vocals from Lila. I can already see myself crushing the dance floor in all my white awkwardness. Power pointing towards all the baddest b*tches in the room. Bailando. Caliente. Dale.

Did the Bieber do it again or did the Beiber do it again? Just sleeping with Michael Madson’s daughter while he’s in the house like it’s no big deal. Sure, he gets beat up by a career criminal slash gaudy gold jewelry wearing bad guy. The balls on this kid though. And the dance moves. Oh, the dance moves. The swaggie is literally dripping off his $900 Lanvin sneakers. Vintage Biebs. I wonder how Selena feels though. She has to watch this and cringe. She’s like 18, right? It’s common knowledge 18 year old girls can’t be in a relationship without an unhealthy amount of jealousy. I can imagine he’s going to be in the dog house for months. Doesn’t matter though. It’s Bieber’s world and we’re just living in it.

It’s no secret, I’m a sucker for a bit of Girl Fire. So what exactly is Girl Fire? Well, I’m glad you asked…basically its any track that makes ladies dancefloor hungry, and typically includes some kind of female vocal. There is no doubt in my mind that the current king of Girl Fire has to be Danny Olson… his recent remix to Nelly Furtado’s Big Hoops was an absolute bomb.
For his latest creation, Danny has teamed up with Adam Nello and Missy Modell to conquer Taylor Swift, Both of Us. Needless to say, it was a success, so check it out..

Even though R.I.O is extremely one-dimensional, hokey, and has terrible marketing, I can’t get enough of his singles. He keeps putting out hit after hit after hit. I don’t even know how he does it. All I know is that this is pure girl fire and I’ll be jamming out to it at the stop light with my windows up.

Let me level with you: I’ve got a serious girl crush on Ellie Goulding. I love her music, I love her style, I love the fact that she’s a badass runner and I love what she does with her hair. Still, I’m always freshly taken aback every time she comes out with a new release. Her unique talent has a way of catching me off guard and reasserting itself whenever I listen to one of her songs for the first time. And today was one of those moments: her stunning, emotional collaboration with Tinie Tempah, which just dropped a few hours ago and which will presumably be featured on her upcoming album, is pretty much guaranteed to give you chills and tug at your heart strings. Ellie’s distinctive voice is positively otherworldly on those high notes and I’m loving the way the chilled-out bass gets intense after the drop in the chorus. Sidenote: not really sure what Tinie Tempah is doing on this — I’m pretty ambivalent about his verse and think it detracts from the ethereal vibe of the song…but whatever. Viva Ellie.
