Don’t judge this cover until you hear it, this is amazing, MNEK makes Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” his own, and if you didn’t already love the original, you’re about to love it even more, the vocals are on point full of emotions, and the bass is bumping enough to carry this record to the clubs. Happy Valentine’s day, this is a definite must listen,

Hailing from The University of Western Ontario, the only Canadian University recognized by Playboy Magazine as a Top 10 party school, Spencer Baird has become synonymous with unpredictability as his mashups have been recognized for their creativity and balance between what’s popular and what’s on the rise. He’s transferred these characteristics to this brilliant remix. I bring you Baird’s remix to social media shit-starting legend Deadmau5 and the self-proclaimed king of hipsters Dillon Francis’ ‘Some Chords’. Scope out this kid’s Soundcloud page (no for real, click that button now) and bring a notepad.

I don’t usually post mixes but something about this weekend has got me in the mood. Christofi jam packs his February 2015 mix with some high profiles: Tchami, Oliver Heldens, Calvo, Amtrac, Zeds Dead and then some. This mix starts off strong and keeps the energy flowing throughout. There’s no room to slow down here so if you’re looking to liven the mood look no further – let Christofi take you to church.

Holy… To all the trap DJ’s out there if you’re sleeping on this one give your head a shake. It’s the perfect piece for a transition, an intro, a crowd hype – you name it. Diskord’s remix to Astronaut & Far Too Loud’s ‘War’ is jaw dropping with its digital synths and glass shattering bass making it the perfect addition to the ‘War’ EP. The EP itself has a variety of sounds and it’s posted below but Diskord highlights why I fell in love with the Monstercat label in the first place.

Bass, Drum & Bass, Electro, Electronic, Trap | Daytrip x Vybz Kartel – Up To The Crime (Video)

When you hear a song for the first time, it’s easy to jump to conclusions about the songs meaning, or perhaps what the artist was envisioning while he or she composed it.
In music videos, like Act Natural’s for “Up To The Crime”, it’s captivating to see an entirely new spin on a previous piece of work. The video takes a viewer on a tour of London’s illegal gun trade. There are no actors used and all of the real people from where the video was shot in West London add a scary reality to the already dark story.
As the video twists and turns from alley to club, the melodic, yet powerful builds structured by traveling production duo, Daytrip, keeps your ears just as your eyes.
